  • EBC Spring

Did some measuring on the EBC Clutch spring from what i can see the only difference is the thickness is maybe .003 in thicker than oem the dish height is exactly the same as oem makes me wonder if it really is 10% stronger. the manual doesn't say anything about the direction of the steels but Everytime i pull factory installed steels out the steels have the sharp edge facing out so thats how i put them back. Still got a lot left to do on this 2006 Silverado, i got the neck and wheel bearings done, the goldwing shock will have to wait until next year, i want tires and an exhaust first. The alloy rims are taking forever to get the corrosion out, im im seriously thinking of painting them , i i just have no idea what would look good on a white bike, any ideas or pictures would be helpful but i can't find bike pictures with painted oem rims on them.

I had a slipping clutch in one of mine... I used the EBC and didn't change anything else. It's held tightly ever since. Been some years now. And, I cannot tell if the clutch pull was ever any harder, or not... so, it's all good! Total project cost was under $60, too!

Pauli many on here agree what I will say “Do the Roadwing mod as soon as you can.” If you wait, you will be kicking yourself on why didn't you do it at first. Looking back at all the mods done, this is my top one over anything else. 2nd is ED seat. 3rd Intake and exhaust mods. If I were to do it all over again would be in this order. JC

I put an offer for 40.00 on one just goofing around, he wanted 149.00, i couldn't believe it got accepted and it comes with actuator and hose and harness. I just finished ordering the bushings from mcmaster-carr.

I need to know more about that installation, i want to manually adjust the shock like with a three position switch up down and neutral i can get the whole thing from a 2001 gl 1800 for 150 i i have access to a machine shop so i can make my own bushings and collars its its electronic i know nothing about , does the the system work by pressurising the hydraulics with air which controls damping. It can't be air ride because im not seeing a bladder or air resivoir

Pauli you can use a BMW RAP (Remote Adjust Preload) linked via a hose and it is a whole hydraulic setup with no electronics. Most of us are using this setup. Contact Smokescreen from here and he can set you up unless he is all out if them. JC

I think he was asking FPB about chrome paint that might work on the wheels. I've seen it, too, but can't remember where... Maybe, what is it, Eastman?

There has to be a special base coat under that chrome paint, the more i look at those rims the harder it is to believe its not just real chrome, most people paying for aftermarket wheels don't paint them they usually buy what they want, pulling my leg a little im im thinking
