Flagging spam

if you see a spam post, don't reply or comment on it. Just flag it. We get those flag reports and take action. That action is pretty simple. If the post is obviously spam we delete and then check few boxes to delete all other posts by that user and ban them permanently. If the post is questionable as spam then we can suspend the user and then send them a message to work it out.
So when it doubt - Flag The Post

  • Belt/ axel alignment

    I replaced my rear tire, unfortunately I took a bad picture and now I cant see how it was on the muffler side.
    I've tried measuring from the center of the swing arm to the center of the axle, it has been a bit difficult because they dont have the same diameter, but I believe they have the same measurement now....
    however, when riding, I have the impression that the handlebar is tilted to the right - like if I was making a slight right turn, is not much, but noticeable.
    How should I adjust this? push the axle forward on the muffler side ? btw - the belt tension seems to be fine.

    I would check the measurements again. I'm thinking it may be a little shorter on the muffler side.
    If you have a helper, have him hold a tape measure *exactly* in the center of the swingarm while you check the measurement to the center of the rear axle on both sides.

        A long threaded rod with 2 nuts and a where in between on each end.....can get exact same distance on both sides that way. Don't assume belt tension is ok....check with gauge!

          I tried one more time today, it was really off.
          This is what I did... Since the diameter of the swing arm is different on both sides, I found a bolt that fitted nicely on the belt side but it was loose on the muffler side, so I took blue tape and then electric tape to compensate and form a sleeve; I used an electric cable with a mark on blue tape to compare.

          I went out and it seems quite OK, it no longer pulls to any side, the belt seems to be tracking right in the middle.
          so I went further and put marks and they're still a bit off - it needs some fine tuning... I might adjust 1/4-1/2 turn.

            My opinion is, that's not enough to stress about.
            I would say you've done very well.

            Now go Ride the danged thing! Enjoy the wind.

          I don’t worry about the bolts being even or measuring the distance on both sides.

          I check the tension and then turn the wheel while watching where the belt tracks in the rear pully. I don’t try to get it centered perfectly, just not riding either edge. That always works for me. Like I said though, make sure the tension is correct too.

              remember in the future that there is no reason to loosen the belt tensioners to replace the rear tire. When you loosen the axle just pull the rear wheel back and rotate the tensioners out of the way. if you need to adjust the tension of the belt turn both sides equally and they should never be out of alignment.
