Ok So big recon job going on.
Started AIS made a small slide hammer from a turnbuckle with hoop ends and replaced one end wirh 10mm cuphead bolt as the slide. Used booker rod joiner as weight. [email protected] they are tight but turning and aceppting crc pentera8 Tips welcome here.
Done the steering bearings. Man getting the bottom race out is hard. I used 1/4 socket drive which i ground and shaped so it picked up tbe race. Then easy peasy. Now the nanual says 3nm but fark that is to loose i am at 8mn and passes flop test with just forks and wheel. Feel om with that. Thoughts.
Here dumb Aussie i am. Thinking tommorrow being today forks will be a piece of piss. Well got the caps off springs out and drained em out. Prettyclean except last bit which was very thick and dirty. Ok so like my manual says i start to wank the outer shaft with vigure but it does not cum of like the manual. I have removed the bottom bolt and got the equaliser and spring out. So now the outer casing is supposed to come off but even with hammerinv on the front guard/fender mounts not much happening. Guessing i am missing something simple. All advice welcome with thanks in advance.
