Thanks guys for the comments and info. I do like having the extra filtration and have been using an inline filter on my XS. I do like that small autozone filter shown above but no Autozone stores here in Canada. Will see what I can find here but if not, may simply replace the inlet filters and call it a day! JC

Same here. A filter won’t stop water, and any sediment big enough to cause a problem won’t go through the petcock standpipe screens.

Don't remember what filter is in mine, but it looks identical to yours. Could be the same, it has been a while since I went pumpless!

BTW, I wouldn't trust those glass filters. I've heard too many horror stories of them leaking and causing fires!

The Autozone FF 1203 for about $3 is on all 3 of mine. I run the hose over the intake, and down to the inlet.

Been pumpless for 5 years. I don't use an inline filter. I rely on the screen over the petcock pick-up tubes inside the tank to keep all the bad shit out. So far so good.

it works pretty good and it's nice to be able to check that fuel is running through
that carb puke is something else, and for first time I rode the bike....not a fun surprise
I went pumpless and never had an issue, no carb puking!

    Pumpless and inline filters

Most likely going to go pumpless over winter and was wondering what most have been doing for an inline fuel filter? Pics would help too.

Seems I have been plagued with carb puke after longs rides and just getting sick an tired of the smell in the garage. Last winter have removed the rollover valve and tank is free vented thru this line. Without closing petcock near 30 seconds before, it nearly happens all the time. Long high speed runs will puke for sure. Just gonna change out the float needle and seat along with installing an inline filter.

Any help, pics and suggestions welcomed by all. Thanks JC
