Are all of the 2007's carburated ? Did they switch over to EFI midseason ?

2008 model year was the first for EFI. Not sure if similar to cars where an '08 model year may have a late '07 build date (but it would still be referred to as an '08)?

That's what I thought. I have a bike that I want to buy and the guy thinks it's EFI.
I don't know why he would think that since his bike SHOULD have a choke and a fuel petcock and he would have had to use them to go riding.

Have you seen any pictures? If there are any semi close-up pics you can tell by looking. A fuel injected doesn't have the small black buttons below the speedometer. The controls for trip meter and clock are on the right bar controls above the start button. Also from the left side, a carb bike has a more square pump cover and fuel injected bike has a more triangular. Unless your like Shores and replace the cover with something more creative.

It's as simple as looking for what year is printed on the title. 99-07 are carbonated and 08 and above are fuelies.

I'm happy with my EFI machine. Jump on and ride and no fiddling with the choke. I also have a carb Road Star that I'm fixing up to get back on the road. I think either one are fine. Seems the seller isn't very RS savvy so look it over good and ask a lot of questions. What did they use for oil when doing changes (probably had a dealer do the work) to make sure it's wet clutch compatible.

I wouldn't shy away from buying a motorcycle just because of the owner's ignorance. Go check it out and find out for yourself what it is. If he's clueless you can take advantage of that in your negotiations to get a cheaper price.

my 2009 efi bonnie, and 2005 kawi1500 efi both do. some sort of chokerer/enrichener??

RS fuelie has no choke or enricher, no fuel pump on the left side of the engine but rather inside the fuel tank and believe it or not has no carburetor. Go figure!
