gas overflow when key turned on

So the bike was running very poor when I got it. It wouldn't even run. Without the choke held all the way open.
I took the carb off yesterday and cleaned everything real good. Put it all back together and the bike ran like a dream...perfect idle, responsive.
I drove it around town several times today and it was great , no problems.
I parked it and came out a couple hours later to ride around a little more and as soon as the key is turned, I can hear the fuel pump running and gas just starts pouring out of the carb everywhere, like both sides. I held the throttle all the way open and it started, very rough and gas was just pouring out all over the whole time!
It mainly appears to come from the accelerator pump area.
Any ideas? Sound familier?

Something wrong with the float. It's not closing. You mucked something up when you put it back together. carefully take it back apart and see what the float is hanging up on.

Replace the float’s needle and seat.

I pulled the float needle seat and the O-ring was pretty shot. I have a new one in now.
the o-ring that sits between to body and bowl Doesn’t look well either. Is it a standard o-ring? It looks flat with a very small hole. Is this look just due to being trashed? Can it be replaced with a standard one?

Update: I replaced both the o-rings from the float seat assembly and the accelerator pump one between the body and bowl. I used the same size but a standard one.
So far all is well. I started and ran it and no leaks. Drove it a few miles and no leaks. I guess these were the culprits! I'm becoming a tank and carb removal pro.
On another note, I broke the plastic choke part that sits in the mount bolted to the tank.
Where can one of these be found and will I need to buy the entire cable?

U can fix it with a metal nut .and neoprene washer

ihad an 883hd with a clothes pin to hold choke opentill it warmed up. clip it behind the pull knob, stays out till you clip it on your pocket.
