Fuel Injected Fuel Pipe replacement?

Working on my 2009 and broke the connector on the fuel pipe that connects to the fuel pump/tank.. Its a Japan only order item and looking at several months I was told by Yamaha dealer.. My question- can a standard fuel hose replace that piece? I know the stock piece is form fitted to that unique shape/twist it needs to connect to fuel pump to the throttle body… however I can route some 5/16 fuel pipe just fine to connect them… Just wondering if that OEM connector has any special properties other than its a high pressure connector with tab locks… Thanks!

You mean rubbwr fuel hose? Ifnyou do makensure andbgwt the high pressure FI hose and some damn steong clamos made for fuel line. Im not sure how much pressure the FI bikes make but probablt less than 55 psi (what my Roadliner is)

I'm not familiar with the exact fitting that you have but you might be surprised at the number of different fuel line fittings available aftermarket at most auto parts stores. just bring it with you for an example and don't tell them it is for a motorcycle. Telling them that will confuse them and they will say they don't sell motorcycle parts when all it is, is a fitting

No shit! My dad went into a store with a push button momentary switch for his tractor and asked the kid behind the counter if they had anything. The kid asks what's it on. Dad says old tractor. Then tells the kid it's a 1955 Ferguson TO35. The kid looks at him and says they only sell auto parts.

That's a cool looking switch. He wasn't looking for anything special. Just a starter button for his tractor. We used the same thing back when I had raced dirt track.

But apparently the guy didn't think it was an auto part.
