Is there any service work to do the the solenoid? Do they either work or not? If replacement would be needed any aftermarket or stick with oem?

  • #2
Any service work will guarantee it will break down half way to Starfest! Go back inside and have a cup of coffee!

They can be "bent back" to where they function better. Carefully. But they don't need any maintenance per say.

Yes, the little spoon thing, slightly, that is the only "adjustment" Otherwise they ether work or don't work.

thank you. With over 83 thousand miles was wondering if being punched so many times by the plunger maybe it has bent a little over the years. Will look at it again and maybe tweek it.

Yes the "spoons" do get bent.

Over time, that plunger jumps out with some authority and bends the arm to the cup the solenoid pushes against.

Any substantial gap on the plunger to the cup needs to be addressed.
