New led lights

So I got some new led lights for my bike they r run/turn signals,,the blinkers work fine ,,,but flash fast,,but the running light comes on and then cuts out like 5 seconds later! So my question is, ,,do I need a load equalizer or some kind of diode on the run

To slow down the flash rate, you will either need to do a load equalizer or mod your flasher unit
As for the running not staying on, you have an intermittent connection somewhere.

I think he can just install LED bulbs in the rear lights and that will also take care of the problem.

With the stock flasher, it does not see the correct load, therefore it will flash fast. Old flashers when they flash fast, it is their way of telling you, you have a bulb out.
Until you put in a "electronic LED", mod your current or install load resistors it will flash fast.

I know that when I built the Eagles Raffle bike I put LED'S on front and rear and never changed the flasher and everything was fine.

I just installed the custom dynamics front led turn signal bulbs with running lights when signal not in use. I also have the fast flash and was wondering if you cured yours and how? Thanks (also will the fast flash cause any issues if I ride like this for a bit?)

I have a 2003 with the weak charging system so I would prefer rear leds also if that is a viable cure.

Mine have had LEDs front & rear for over 5years.
They flash faster than normal... What's the problem?

Standard mechanical flashers require a resistive load to operate properly. LED's do not produce a "load", therefore they flash fast when the "load" is not correct.
"Electronic" flashers do not work off of a "load".
If you replace your oem flasher you lose your auto cancel,
you can ad load resistors or you could mod your oem flasher unit

I had to install a load equalizer on my rear LED's to slow the flash. My question is, can I tie in the same load equalizer to my front LED signals when install them or do you need to install a second one for the fronts?

From my research it appears you need another for the fronts. I’m gonna try replacing the flasher unit for 10$. I believe the load equalizers create heat and don’t reduce the electrical load on the system which is one of my goals going to leds. I think my auto cancel will be inop with the new relay though.

I wonder if newer bikes like the Venture/Eluder use an electronic flasher with auto canceling feature? Might be a retrofit to get the low power consumption without losing the canceling feature. Just a thought as I ponder ways to not work.

I a few weeks late to the conversation, but where is the best place to mount the resistors?

from Illinois. Location does not really matter, as long as they fit and you give them just a little room for the brief amount of heat. Do you have them and are absolutely stumped, or just looking for some other suggestions?
