Alright. I don't know how to read a wiring diagram but i still want to install an aftermarket speedo/cluster gauge on my bike. Its a 1999 xv1600.

Here is a picture of the new speedo wiring diagram.

If someone can tell me wich wires that went to the factory gauge cluster/speedo goes to wich wire in my aftermarket speedo i am willing to send you a money transfer if everything works after install.

Here goes. I'm pretty confident in my abilities, but I hold no personal responsibility for this information or your workmanship

first off, you'll probably want these to verify me (wiring diagram and color chart):

All of your (-) wires on the indicator side of your speedo will connect together and connect to a good ground. These are just lighting circuits.

It appears that your blinker is just a flashing light and doesn't tell you left or right, as there's only 1 hot "winker" wire. So you will need to tie the Chocolate and Dark Green wires from the bike together and connect them to the Yellow wire on your speedo. The Roadie doesn't have a stock Oil light, so we're going to substitute the CEL light which is Light Green and connect it to the Red wire. The Neutral Indicator wire is Sky Blue, connect that to the Green speedo wire. Last is the High Beam Indicator which is Yellow, connect that to the Blue wire on the speedo.

On the power harness side, of course, Red to Power, Black to Ground, Green to a hot when on - looks like the Black with Blue Tracer goes hot with the key.

Power Harness:

L/Y Orange
W Black
B/L Green

Can't find a connection for the odometer/trip reset.

Easy-schmeezy.

You plug the thing-a-ma-jiggy into the do-hicky on the left, and then take the what-cha-ma-call-it and, oh, never mind...
