2005 roadstar odd starting circuit issue

Hi guys new here. While I’m not new to motorcycles I am nee to Yamaha. First I’d like to ask , who makes a good manual with wiring diagrams hard copy or digital is fine

so the issue I’m having … my voltage reg went out to the extent of popping my head light and expanding the battery enough to be a huge pain to get out. It’s now changed. However the bike will not start with the switch. I can jump the solenoid and it will start and run. I can ground the blue wire (top right on the four prong plug ) and it will start and run. The switch has continuity. I however don’t feel like going any further without having a diagram for the starting circuit is really in my best interest. Thanks I’m advance for your thoughts. (Side note with the key on not running the decompression solenoid gets burn your skin hot)

Well because it’s such a nice day and I can’t find the issue I wired in a temporary start switch (grounds the relay) then I noticed that the decompression solenoid didn’t close after start up so I’m thinking my assumption that the relay all of the signal wires went in to has some melty bits inside. I actually already ordered the relay it should be here this evening. Im just glad I noticed the decompression solenoid was open before I went and cooked some valves. I will let you guys know when I actually fix it (I hate reading forum post where the solution was never posted )

I also just noticed I’m getting codes 29 and 37 (which I believe are both decompression codes but the solenoid seems to work

Turns out it was the igniter module (ecu). Got a dynatek3000 for 279 runs like a top

How did you find out? Im having problems with my ECU i think lol
