Chinese daymaker

I was thinking about trying one the daymaker/ projector headlights those 50 Dollar deals on amazon and ebay, are those plug and play or is some tweeking involved to make it fit into the oem trim ring? I looked at some on youtube and the beam patterns seem pretty good, but there are no videos of putting one into a roadstar, i don't feel like grinding or shimming one to make it fit

I purchased the $110 headlight/passing light combo. I haven't fully installed them as I'm waiting on my bar to get here. I did a pre-fit of the headlight and "HOLY CRAP!!" the amount of light coming out was an amazing difference. Granted it was shining into my garage, but there's definitely more light.

Install is straight forward, they're the same size, the bolt holes all line up. Simple plug and play.

I bought one off of Amazon I think it was around $57 bucks back in 2018 and it's still working great.

All that kind of shit is made in China. Some are just labeled with American company names. They are made to whatever spec the selling company wants so it is always gonna be a crap shoot as far as quality from 1 to another brand. Sometimes just because it cost more don't made it better and just because it cost less don't make it junk. You'll find out when you get it. lol It's gonna get worse before it gets better too.

I have an Amazon kit for headlight and passing lights. Plenty bright during day to be seen. I have not had good luck for night time. I adjusted a bunch of times and cannot get good distance. I will be switching to the real truck lites in the near future.

I got a $60 unit in vstar and both road stars and works fine

I used the original cans but used the trim rings from those and it worked great. The stock trim rings wouldn’t accept the lights properly and the aftermarket cans wouldn’t adjust the way I wanted them so I combined the two.
