What bike could this be from? Windshield

Hi, I saw this the other day at my local pawn shop. It does have a 'star' logo on it, but just looks really small (but solid). Either way I'm tempted to buy it. Does anyone know what bike it came from? Cheers

Allright, found one on ebay, https://www.ebay.com/itm/29348632688...kAAOSwfL1eTwMN it's a v star 650. Any idea if it would be easy enough to fit to my roadstar,, maybe utulising my handle bar bolts?

Nope will not fit your Roadstar. Way too small. Your best option is a used Silverado windshield. Do you have the factory mounting brackets that are attached to the bike under the headlight bucket?

Nah I don't have any mounting hardware. I was hoping there was an easy fix. Compared to the cheap after market one which I bought off ebay a few years back (attaches to handle bars) , this one looks really solid - so yeah I though it might be worth grabbing. I reckon I might visit the store again with my bike this time and see how it 'fits'.

Do you have any fabrication skills? If so, pretty much anything can work....just might take more effort. I'd take your bike in and see if they would let you take it out and lay it up against the bike. You'll get a feel for what might be possible. Otherwise just have to keep your eyes open for some brackets and shield. Always someone switching to a faring and selling the take off windshield.

Brad_G _G I reckon I'll do that. I'm pretty handy so should be able to fit it up. Just had a look on ebay for oem shields and with shipping I reckon I'd be paying close to a grand..

You're profile doesn't have your location. Are you overseas? Here in the states you could get a few sets of used windshields and brackets for that kind of $$.

Check out the Wind Vest brand windshields. They're pretty slick.

Yamaha called them Boulevard screens and made them for Road Stars also with slightly different mounting.

Keep checking the RSC classifieds for one. I found mine on Craigslist for $125 with the quick release mounts.

Wow I ended up buying it - it turns out the holes on the bracket directly line up with the two bolts that hold the head stem / handle bar riser. Hopefully there is enough bolt left over to hold the windshield plus the existing cable routing things.

Looks good. 100mm between holes spacing then.

Cheers, yeah the bolts came off easily, I routed the cables between the plastic and the bracket. I'm cheering, So much better than the cheap universal ebay ones - thicker acrylic etc. It's becoming winter soon here in Australia so yeah this will definately make trips more comfortable when doing 100KMph etc.

Good to know the 650 screen fits our bikes too.

I believe your screen is polycarbonate not acrylic.

That's great to hear that you got it mounted up.
