Please define the acronym MXT. The bikes will accept most 1" diameter (size of the tubing) handlebars. You may need longer cables and / or brake lines. That can get pretty expensive. You may also need to extend the wiring to the handlebar switches. If you have to pay someone to do it, that's more money. Here's the formula to determine if it's viable to get different handlebars:

    Add these figures:

    Price of handlebars.

Price of extended cables. (throttles and clutch)

    Price of extended brake lines.

    Price of getting wiring extended.

Now, take the grand total of all those things and multiply that figure by 4. If the sum is greater than what you paid for the bike, it's probably not viable. Or you could just say fuck it and do it anyway 'cause it looks so cool.

This doesn't include new grips. Sometimes it's hard to get the left side grip off your old handlebars without destroying it, which will necessitate buying new grips. You actually can run just one throttle cable (I do). If you do that it'll save you some money. There may be other hidden charges. Then, after all this, you may find that after riding it that you don't like them. They might hurt your back or wrists or some other unforeseen shit. The human body can only tolerate a finite number of concessions to serve the purpose of looking really fuckin' cool. Eventually that bitchen' bike becomes unrideable for any substantial distance. If you're just an around-town bar-hopper, then, who cares, right?

Ultimately, it's your bike, do and spend what you want to on it. Make it your own, unique, Or just leave it as is. Allow me to quote RUSH:" If you choose not to decide you still have made a choice." OK, I'm done.

Mine has 18 inch apes from the previous owner. On the highway I kick my feet up on the highway pegs and lay back against the backrest and the apes are good. Low speed they can be tricky. I'm just worried about lower bars pulling me away from my recliner position
