That's the relay arm on the bike. The diagram can't really tell if it's flipped. What do you think?
Can’t tell from the photo, but what you have labeled as the swingarm is not, it is one of the dogbones or what ever they are technically called. Need a better angle photo.

That picture makes it look like it is in there correctly.

You know, looking at the pic of the stock arm couple of post below, this one above has very square edges, looks machined, the stock arm is cast.

So that looks like a stock relay arm. And it does not look to be flipped.

          Any one else ?????

I can't get a picture of my relay arm, bags, duais and roadwing pump in the way.

Just found out it's not the stock one. Looks like the Barron one. Drops the rear 1.5 inches I think.

That second picture looks like a stock arm.

Maybe the relay arm on your R* is one of Barons earlier versions. I was looking for the pretty chamfers and logo milled in to it.
            More suspension pics here:

Too bad the previous owner did not give you a box of take off parts.
Hope you find a stock one soon.

I've found one RPHazen . Thank you. But I think it's back to square one because I can not find the lenght of the stock dog bones anywhere. Measured mine and are 29.cm (11.40" inches) between holes center where the bolts go. Got to be sure they're stock before any purchase.

My stock bones are exactly these measurements ^^^^ . I am Flipped and Ground with my Roadwing. I have also done the Racetech and Gold Emulaters in my frontend with 15 lb. MOTUL fork oil. When I'm feeling REAL TOUGH this Bike can't be caught. The rearend is down 2" my floorboards are moved forward 3" and raised up 1 1/2" . Nothing Drags in corners or curves . I have placed several Pics. of my '01 Midnight Star on Facebook but , have never been able to post here .

Hell yeah Horsehammerr mi amigo! Thank you very much for taking the time to measure the bones. That takes a huge spininng of my head. I tend to be annoying and almost paranoid for things like this. Have made big mistakes rushing and buying parts without consulting first.

I've learned a lot this time because there were many brothers involved. Also learned to be patient and not ask or buy for the first thing that I think is wrong.

I want to thank all of you guys at the clinic, you had my back before and did it again now. This and the facebook groups, and each one of you are great as I haven't seen anywhere else. Thank you personally RPHazen Father Pobasturd Flashback Shores MikeyC Horsehammerr for being patient and selfessly sharing your knoledge.

It looks like it may be flipped, hard to tell, good picture though, do you see what they mean buy the curved surface? The center hole is not lined up with the top and bottom holes making a curve. If you lay that part on the floor it will rock with the curved surface down and be a pedestal with the curved surface up.
I don't know how you get those pictures, I can't usually even see up there with the naked eye.

Lol I know. I haven't mounted the bags and set it for a solo ride. So I just jacked one side and manage to get my cell phone in there and said "here goes nothin'".

The stock relay arm is on the way.

Does the stock arm come with bearings? When I put a baron's on mine I had to get new bearings. ...

It does not. I was about to buy one like that, but a brother told me that, and saved me a good amount of money. Let apart the frustration of not knowing what I was doing. He really helped me and knows a lot about Yamaha. The one I bought has all bearings and seals. For the same price!

Was like when you made me realize that there's a lowering arm instead of the dog bones I was about to change. And thanks for that!✌

Before and after changing the Barons lowering relay from the rear suspension. Installed OEM. Also changed handlebars. Rides like a cloud now. Thank you all for your help. Thank you Darryl Griffith for the bars and especially Joseph Ramirez for the relay and all the guidance.
