I've seen them, I'd imagine they were a Speedstar or Kuryakyn accessory

Yes there is a cheaper alternative. Go to a truck stop like like Flying J or Love's or one of those other big "chain" truck stops you see out on the Interstate. There's one for a Peterbuilt IIRC that's just about exactly the right size. You'll have to measure your speedo before you go to check it but it was super cheap, like under $10.00. I glued mine on with Super glue, lasted a couple months before it fell off. A better adhesive like epoxy resin or something would probably be better. I lost mine when we moved but the next time I see one of those big truckstops, if I think about it I will get another one. I liked it. I had some pics of it that I posted on here long ago when I did it, I will see if I can find them.

Yes they are a headlight trim ring with a built in visor, they look nice but visor portion stick straight up so not sure how much nighttime reflection it would hide.

Part # STR-4WM04-00-00 discontinued years ago. No longer any available in any US or Japan warehouse.

Thanks guys. The trim ring is a good idea. And cheap enough to try out.
about the yamaha factory one. I wonder if that is still available. I find that a lot of 3rd party vendors show parts in stock when they are in reality unavailable.
Out to a truck stop i go.....

For what it’s worth, here’s the part number. STR-4WM04-00-00

Do a search/save on eBay and when one pops up you’ll be notified. That’s where I scored mine a few years back. They do show their unicorns once in awhile.

I've used the type of visor everyone is talking about on a number of bikes I've had with decent, but mixed results. The last bike I rode (Suzuki C50) had the reflection issue and I also added a piece of non-reflective plastic sheeting over the speedometer glass. (I found an iPad face cover plastic in the Closeout section of my Staples store and cut it to fit). Worked great for me.

I've seen them, I think Yamaha used to have one in their Star accessory line, not sure if it's still available. The ones I've seen are usually a universal one, based on the speedometer diameter, it looks like one of those should work...

They seems to be even harder to get nowadays, so i wake up this old thread. Maybe someone gets inspired Decided to make one myself after searching for one quite a while. Material is SS 1 mm , made a template of cardboard and started cutting and hammering it to the shape i wanted.

The best solution was to fix it with doublesided tape (like 3m VHB) to the speedo bezel, and fit the gasket as usual.

Fixed on the bike, needs some more polishing but i ran out of my ss blue compound. Inside of the visor is only brushed to avoid reflections.

Ive tried one from Kuryakin, 4,5 inch, but dont thought it looked that good. It stands out in a 90 degree angle.
