  • Downward direction lowers

These are working better than my other traditional lowers that directed too much air up. Note: my windshield is all the way up. Used a second set of OEM windshield brackets, made two small metal brackets with two holes spaced 1.5” apart, used four home made 5/8” spacers and mounted it all together using the two main windshield mounting bolts and the two upper holes in the extra shield brackets. Still testing the shape of the clear polycarbonate...these are temporary. They will likely end up being “C” shaped to block air that hits the forks. I also have a Royal Star deflector under my lower tree. May even cap them with some extra chrome trim I have.

Looking good. If it works, that's what it's all about. I have the Yamaha crash bars so I had to fab up my lowers.

Here's a few more pictures. I've fabed these up using Lexan over 15 years ago, and they have worked out keeping the air from coming up from the bottom of the shield. Duke.

Great design Duke. Simple with a single bolt into an existing hole. I love it! Did about 200 miles today and what a difference. Now I’m in the process of installing a wet bar, stripper pole and massage table to install with design assistance from Smokescreens!

Do your lowers keep the water from splashing up under your helmet, when you run into runoff? Neither my windshield nor my fairing have managed to do that. I found out the hard way!

Never had that problem with the traditional lowers and don’t suspect it will happen with these new and improved ones.

Here’s my final version with 3/16” clear polycarbonate. Cost a whole $8 from the local plastic fabricator’s scrap box. Mounted and functional, just waiting for the edging tool to arrive so I can finish the edges mo beta! I love them! Not real noticeable cuz they are clear. 10.5” tall and 9” wide at the widest point with a piece of polished 1” x 1/8” aluminum strap for trim.

I had to resize it. We have limits on sig pic sizes. I think you might have set yours before we set those limits. Sic pic sizes have a greater impact than other pics in our posts because they're loaded on every post we make. Besides, size doesn't matter, right? (At least that's what my wife tells me...)
