Magnetic tank protectors

Is anyone using magnetic tank protectors on their Road Stars? I'm talking where the legs rest against the gas tank when riding and I was wondering if anyone had any pics of their bikes that are using them. My clear coat is getting hazy where my legs rest on the sides of the gas tank when I ride. Just trying to slow sown the clear coat from getting worse. I seen them on sport bikes but they tend to have flatter tanks on the sides. Thanks

i give the tank a good coat of turtle wax, that gives it some protection

Oddly enough… i have been thinking of creating a cover for my speedometer for shade when i park the bike outside after riding….
My thoughts were to protect the needle and LCD display from sun fade or damage after riding. The engine is too hot for a half cover and i like the bike to cool off a bit before i put it back in the garage… it keeps the evaporated fuel smell from an enclosed garage space to a minimum…
i may have to get creative with a cotton washcloth and some magnets… (temporary cover just to protect the big speedometer display from damage … remove before riding kind of thing-a-ma-jingy)….

That is awesome…. I am out and about at the lake…. Wasnt planning on returning till tomorrow night…. I will post a pic of the microfiber project on the bike at that time… i appreciate the offer on the patch …. Not sure if this is the final version of this little project yet… i will let the consensus of the clinic decide on the validity of the project first before i proceed…
