  • Wheel swap

Thinking of replacing my original rear wheel (1999, spoked, tube) with a later model tubeless rim, around 2004. Anyone happen to know if it will fit? Any mods required? Many thanks in advance.

Any year will fit, you just may need to swap the bearings in the wheel hub as well as the pulley hub.

I have a 2008 Silverado with spoked wheels. I’m gonna swap to a pair of OEM mags that I bought from a member here. The rear mag has black OEM paint on the sides of the spokes and entire hub and three individual numbers stamped, each on a separate spoke: /6, 2/5 and 0/3. The front mag is all silver color and has three

The toothed part of the pulley stays with bike. The pulley hubs can be swapped with the wheels and all would be good. The roller bearing in the hub is the only thing that needs changed. The spacers on the outside are the same. The only issue is the mushroom head the 1600 pulley roller bearing has. The 1700 pulley roller bearing doesnt have this built in spacer.

And do the 1600s not have the 4-in long spacer that goes inside the wheel hub like on the 1700s?

He just need to take everything out of the spoke wheel (spacers and bearing) and install it into the cast wheel and he is done. nothing else needs to be done. I've done a few and never changed anything else. you have to use the pulley from the 1600 and everything will fit. You have to use the 1600 pulley anyway because of the wider belt.

Thanks for this information. I may be looking to do this in the future.
