What's the best type of fluid to use in a road Wing rap version? TIA

I've used 10 weight synthetic fork oil and a couple different ones workout good. You only need about an ounce I believe

I used the same as Lug Nut 10w

I'm going to replace the line from the rap to the shock. The shock is installed on the bike with the banjo fitting facing down. When installing the new line, can I leave the fitting loose at the shock and then use a syringe to fill the line and push air out at the shock, then fill and install rap. Or will the air get trapped in the shock and cause problems?

I used ATF. Any oil will work compatibility wise it just depends on how stiff you want it.

I have some Hydraulic fluid left over from my floor jack, will that work?

That should also be in the 10w category I believe. That's what I was going to suggest.

NCB -- Can you tell me about the hydraulic line you are going to replace between your RAP and your Road Wing? I had the Road Wing for my 2003 Silverado 1600 and the hose was really long for what I needed since the adjuster was mounted where the rear horn used to be.. I have another complete setup to install on my 2006 Midnight and was thinking about trying to find a shorter hose for the fluid between the BMW RAP and the RoadWing shock.

I thought that I had a bad spot on my line, but turned out to be OK. So, I just ended up replacing the fluid and bleeding. My RAP was not providing any resistance until seven or eight clicks and the bike was feeling a little loose on curves in the rear. Now it is at the 2nd click. Feels like it did when I first installed it.
As far as the new line I believe any brake line would work? I was going to contact Chang on FB. That's where I got all my new brake lines from. Smokescreen could answer your question without any doubt.
