    Probably sounds stupid but I was wondering you guys knew of some longer exhaust bolts for the r*, the standard ones thread out way to soon and I'm not a fan of Allen bolts.

    Check out your local Fastenall store.
    They got anything you might need.
    I love the smell of smoked pork in the morning !

      Actually, they use threaded studs, with Allen socket

      nuts, to hold the exhaust flange to the head.

      What do you mean by, ‘...thread out’...?

        Well probably just used the wrong term, but I don't know if it's a thing with the exhaust I have but when I get it near to when it's just getting tight enough, I run out space in the Allen bolt to tighten it if that makes sense. So that's why I was wondering if anyone knew of longer bolts or just the thread size.

        They're studs, like in Bikerron's photo above, the exhaust is held on with a nut; not a bolt. I know some aftermarket exhaust uses a round chrome nut with an allen key hole in one side, the other is threaded. Is that what you're talking about? Make sure your gasket rings are in like TerryinFlorida mentioned. If they are, you may just want to get some nuts.

        Are you missing the metal rings that go between the head of the motor and the exhaust pipe?

        They are called gaskets but its tough for me to call a metal ring a gasket of sorts, lol.

          If you change from the stock Allen nut to a hex nut, then use shouldered nuts. They tend to help keep the retainer from bending.

            Put a couple of stainless steel washers on before the allen nuts, the flange is probably bent from over tightening,

              It’s kinda hard to diagnose what’s going on it this thread when the OP will not respond to suggestions in a timely manner so we can help to reach a result, and fix, for the problem.

              Bent flanges from over tightening the nuts by folks trying to fix an exhaust leak does ‘thread out’ (?) the socket nuts where they will no longer tighten up for a good seal.

                some of the aftermarket exhaust have flanges that are made of thinner steel than that 1 in the pic. They bend even easier from over tightening.

                  my opinion, i would NOT use stainless, as they are usually very soft, and will electrolyse with chrome. I use antisieze on exhaust boltage. you can reuse the copper doughnut gaskets, new are the same thickness as used, they only compress microscopically. DO clean out the place in the head where they go. Do loosen the header to muffler boltage so you can freely MANipulate the header when installing , retighten after. i hang the stock pipes on the rear frame bracketry and then spin rotate the headers into place. BE SURE to get hex head all the way into hex NUT before using , snug by tightening each side a little at a time till flush , do the other header, then carefully torgue the both
