  • Harley Enforcer Conversion

I need a little guidance on swapping my wheels. I understand and know how to swap the front wheel but my question is how to put the enforcer wheel on the rear. From what i can tell is the brake is the big issue, has anyone done this swap? And do the bearings need to be change to accept the Yamaha axle? if i was to do this swap id like to have match front and rear wheels. any pointers or advice is welcome.

I know only 1 member that did a rear swap and it was a lot of work and expensive. I can't say exactly what was involved because i didn't help him but I do remember him saying he wouldn't do it over again. If you have bags on the bike using a Yamaha rear cast wheel will never be noticed.

So I can shed a little light on the HD rear wheel conversion. The swap will be a bit of work and there may be some unknown issues. I ended up with the conversion kit and I was going use them on my Roadstar. I bought the kit from member who had HD wheels installed for a short while on his stock Roadstar and took them off. He sold the Enforcer wheels separately and I bought the conversion kit. I also know where the conversion kit came from, another member who did the swap on a bobber. I had conversations with both members about what was involved, and some of the potential issues.

So why I'm telling you this is I sold the Roadstar recently, and I never did the conversion. I still have the kit, but want to make sure I can't use it on my Vstar 1300 before I decide to sell it (I have some HD wheels). So if you are really interested in considering the swap, I can provide more detailed info if you PM me. If your not up to speed using PM's (private messaging) just respond here.

I did the rear and thought the clearance was too close for comfort. Wheels looked great on the bike.

            From Plano Texas.
I believe Smokescreen installed HD wheels on his Road Star (Back when he had one) and he makes the spacers for the wheels.
I bought spacer for my HD front wheel from him and they were perfect.
Anyway I would talk to him about it.
Just my 2 cents and ride safe.

The conversion kit I have was used first by Smokescreen, then bought by YZ18, then sold to me. I believe Smokescreen said the back wheel was on a bobber project that he never completed or rode, not on his bagged Roadstar. The rear has a bit more involved than just some spacers like the front wheel. Smokescreen was already forgetting some of the details when I talked to him in 2018, I have saved PM's from both saved. If or when he logs in I'm sure he'll have some comment.

yes, i had did the front and rear swap a few years ago on my roadie with a bobbed fender. sadly for yz18 with the belt options available in 1" wide the only option that worked in theory was a 1600 road star front pulley and the wheel all the way back in the adjusters. not sure if belt stretch would have been a issue or not. honestly if you have a band saw you can get a wider belt and set up a fence and cut a belt down to 1 inch wide. if you get a rotor adapter from rc components you can simply use the stock rear rotor and the brakes are solved other than simple spacing.
