  • Front Brake stiffens in heat

On the ride home the last few days I've noticed its been hard to pull the front brake lever in. It been hot here in the PWN the last few days, and I notice that when I headed to work in the early AM nits not bad, but after sitting in the sun all day when headed home around 5pm the brake lever tends to be harder to pull (stiff) Been thinking about swaping the brake fluid out, but not sure this is gonna help. Wondering if anyone else has experienced this, and If so how they fixed it.

    Thanks

Change the fluid & don't overfill the M/C.

Also lube the lever and plunger. Make sure the linkage is not touching the exhaust and transferring heat to the master cylinder.

If your front master cyl is touching your exhaust you may have something bigger wrong with your bike.

If you haven't changed the fluid in some time... you might be amazed at the difference. Every old Road Star we've been changing the fluid out of has resulted in a pretty dramatic improvement in brake feel and performance! Try that first.

My bad, I was thinking of the rear MC.

+1 on brake fluid. Brake fluid is very hydroscopic and absorbs water from the atmosphere. The more water in the fluid the lower the boil point and the worse it is for brakes.
