There is absolutely no logical reason to do the trans recall again. That doesn't make any sense to me whatsoever. I doubt that Yamaha will warranty the recall on the same bike a second time. I hope you mean that they will be covering all of the charges totally. I would not pay a single penny to have a trans recall done a second time as there is simply no need for that. Regardless of mileage. If they want to be nice have them do the upgraded oil pump gear.

Oil pump gear would be my only concern. You don't know until you look at it. If they'll do that for you that would be great.

And if they don't charge him a penny except for the gear itself....never heard of a dealership doing trans recall twice on same bike....I'm just betting they are charging for it...at least a few hundred.....

My concern would be that they have a tech that has performed this surgery before, bike has been out of production 8 years already and techs move around alot.

Oh I thought you said it HAD the trans recall ..that's awesome...I would ABSOLUTELY tell them to change oil pump gear to the newer style (typically free of charge for labor) and if you wanted hi comp pistons now is the time.
