    I lied it is.. so i have a 2005 roadstar mods now include V&H short shots with baffles an aftermarket ecu (because the stocker was way too much) ais delete and carb rejet with the barons kit.

    so i did the exhaust ais and rejet all at the same time. here is my issue idles great fires right up (never could get it to idle worth a crap stock because someone put a 200 jet in a stock bike im going to assume)
    the plugs were rich fouled as they could be (replaced with ngk)

    but when you attempt to give it the beans it pretty much breaks up and falls on its face. it sounds like its running out of fuel
    172.5 main jet
    4th grove of the needle
    the pump works though i read that you can run the pump out. (i dont feel like im modded enough to cause that but i really dont know im a turbo ls guy)
    the only thing i noticed in the carb that i didnt like is the diaphragm for the slide was very thin and floppy but with no exp in these carbs i put it back in (and ordered a new one)


    anyway im sure you guys love hearing the same old questions but i didnt really find anything that exactly applied and what are you doing on a thursday night in the winter anyway?

    Dang quit self diagnosing you came here for help not to tell us what you think the problem is, many here to help, just tell us what you did in what order so the Gurus can sort though it all.

      Just trying to give a frame of reference for where my mind is. The ais delete the exhaust and the rejet all happened at the same time. The dynatek 3000 was before the issue

        Miles on bike

        modifications

        what octane gas you use

        replace fuel filter on fuel pump bracket? Clean out inlet screen filters on petcock tubes? Check/clean inlet filter screen on carb elbow?

        Blow out rollover valve with compressed air?

        What ignition box/cdi do you have and what are the settings (you said ecu)?

        What NGK plugs exactly did you use?

        Did bike run good (not break up) at full throttle before you did this work?

          Rode the bike before pulling it in 3 days ago ran fine at full throttle.

          dynatek3000 on factory settings (was on before the issue)
          dpr7ea-9 Ngk plugs
          fresh 93 octane
          the inlet screen for the inlet jet was replaced when I was in the bowl
          ill Have to find the rollover valve but I can say if you pull the fuel line and open the Petcock fuel pours out full stream

              What's your pilot jet size? Make sure you didn't lose #28 o ring.https://www.yamahasportsplaza.com/oe...55b/carburetor

                  Use 87 octane only...
                  may have to check float height...might have unintentionally altered it
                  pms try 2.5 out

                  Everything else seems good on your setup

                      If float ok and not running out of gas...then check all fuel hoses for leaks/cracks....nit seeing any gas staining anywhere under/around carb?

                        it all just went back together last night so the carb was cleaned when i put it back together. i didnt see any gas on anything when i pulled the air box back off. the acceleration pump is squirting and the slide is moving and fuel is flowing out of it. i was considering ordering new lines and i have new filter. tho i think im just going to do the pump delete and replace all the lines with that. im going to check the float when i get home does anyone know the size of the clear tubing i need for that so i can grab it at lunch? i also cut the old filter apart to check it and it looked debris free tho stained a bit

                          side note when i first fired it up the very first time it rich smoked pretty hard for about 20 seconds i revved it 4 or 5 times and it stopped

                            Make sure you capped off the nipple on the intake manifold where the hose was attached that ran to the AIS. If not you'll suck air in there.

                                The black like is the level looks like maybe 8mm above the mating surface

                                  Is bike on kickstand or sitting level on jack? Want more like 4-5mm above mating surface

                                    The 4 to 5mm above the mating surface is on the intake manifold side of the carb float bowl. The fuel height that he pictured on his bike will work just fine,

                                  Sorry it’s level on a lift. And that appears to be the exact line it is on so I guess that isn’t the issue

                                    well gentlemen it appears to have been.... i have no idea. i took the air box off to check the level and removed the vent tube so i could get the cluster wires by it and put it back on just so i could ride to the store to pick up a new filter (and its like 64 degrees sooooo couldnt pass up the chance) and with no filter or air box it runs like a top. noticeably quicker than pre exhaust and jetting. so i dont know if i pinched the vent or if the filter was defective but it seems to have solved its self. thank you for your time first forum ive been on with helpful people

                                      So it ran fine with no filter, what did it do after you replaced with new filter?

                                    it still seems to be fine i only road it for about 5 minutes today to go get a new bit for installing my lift but seems fine
