Its all math. Larger diameter will result in a deeper tone. Your current ones will likely sound better.

I've never heard of Mac exhaust for a R*. but if you google them you might find your answer.

I bought a set of MAC FATSTAKKERS for my vstar 650 brand new for $100...thought it was a great deal. Real shitty quality pipes... Never installed resold them. I wouldn't wast time or money on them

Probably, just like doing the same to the OEM mufflers. OEM mufflers sound great with this mod.

I have the Fat Stakkers on my 1600. Fit was terrible! Had to modify the rear bracket to fit. Also had some issues with fitment on the front pipe that comes down under the side motor cover. Also their (Black Ceramic Coating) comes off if you breath on it wrong. But their on there and they are loud.

Now my Mac exhaust on my 1980 KZ650, fit perfect and sounds great.
