Switch Housing Covers

Following on this thread ... I bought some chrome ones for the xv1600 but they dont fit !! the left hand housing is missing the hole for the 'flash' on the front face and the 'ind' hole is too big... the right one ... forgot what it was now (ill re-check)

any ideas if they are for a year specific xv1600?... supposed to fit the xv1700 also! ... really good quality but cant be used...

I'm not sure what you are referring to by the "flash" and "ind" holes. But I'm pretty certain that all 1600 and 1700 are the same through the '07 model year. In '08 and the latter fuel injected bikes they moved the trip reset buttons to the right bar control and put a different style of kill switch on them.

Not sure what those covers you have are supposed to fit.

Disassemble yours and have them anodized black.

I don't believe they ever came in black. Either brushed aluminum or chrome.Are you looking for both sides? Or just one side? I have a pair of right side switch housing and chrome perfect shape even has the internals and wires etc. Let me know if interested

I don't believe they (Yamaha) ever made a black set, you are correct. However I didn't know if anyone on the clinic knew if a company ever made a set that mirrored the OEM ones in black.

Hey Everyone,
I'm looking for a place that sells the switch housing covers. I'd prefer to keep the stock look and I would prefer them in black if available, but chrome would work too. If anyone has any places or websites to check out I'd appreciate it.
