Bearing removal?

I am trying to remove the pressed in bearings on either end of the middle drive shaft. I tried a slide hammer and three prong bearing puller, no luck at all! Whats a better option?

Really could use some advice on removing these bearing. They are pressed in at either end of the middle drive shaft opening. I tried a three prong bearing puller with a slide hammer. That ain't working! Would I hurt anything if I were to use a wooden dowel thru the opening of one of them to try and drive the one on the other end out? Just don't want to damage anything!

When I get these bearing out. Should I freeze the new one's prior to installing them?

I haven't removed those but I would take them to a machine shop or motorcycle shop and see if they have a bearing press.... You could fight those all week yourself without the right tools and get nowhere

That would mean I would have to remove the entire drive shaft and oil tank trying to avoid that. Is there such a thing as a portable press?
I know I've heard of people on this forum replacing that bearing behind the drive pulley I'm pretty sure they didn't remove the entire drive?

This is from my Clymers manual, says use a blind bearing puller.

Stopped at a motorcycle shop up the road. They said to use MAP gas to heat around the bearing then use a puller or try and knock it out from the other side.
What are y'all's thought on the heat. Will I damage anything?

Bearings are out!! Don't underestimate a Carpenter with a hammer and a wooden dowel!

Thanks for all the help! I'm back in the wind! Replaced both bearing, new shaft and pulley. Just got back from a ride. Everything is good!!
