Snapped belt

Alright so I got done restoring my bike and after hooking all the fuel up got it to idle, wanted to move it around the backyard maybe take her for a quick spin. Funny thing is I popped it into first and just barely got in the friction zone before the bike jerks forward and stalls. Now I'm just confused, so I get up and I see my belt snapped! I know it could just be an age thing, it's got 44k on it and I don't know if it's the original. Thought I'd make sure I'm not missing anything?

Something not right they dont just snap like that at idle

If it stalled before it snapped I think the rear tire is locked up. Does it roll freely in neutral? Remove your pulley cover and see if you can get it in gear and clutch out with out the belt and running of course.

62000 miles on my OEM belt. Hope you didn't forget to put the two spacers in the middle of the rear hub between the pulley hub and the wheel hub.

Just wondering, did you get hard on it when it snapped? Friction zone?

Yes to the spacers, it has been sitting for awhile so maybe that will be an issue or not. I moved it around in neutral just fine so I don't think it's locked up
