Oil level different for xv1700?

Im really confused here it doesn't sound right too me but this guys stating his manual says 5.5 qt im lile the rest of the *'s using 4 and calling her good is he right 1600 gets 4.3 1700 gets 5.5 manual wise

I put 4 in my 1700 and it’s good to go. Anymore and it’s to high.

That higher volume is for a brand new engine that is dry or has been rebuilt. The manual says 4.3. We all put in four and forget about it. I never trust any recommendations other than from this site.

F*ck the past on my end i can be arrogant ass Shores, much respect for dropping a comment on a rebuild makes sense for sure i think guy's confused that wording as all the time

Once the crankcase and oil tank have been drained there is residual oil trapped in oil lines, crevasses, and what not. So, there is some left in there. Four quarts is plenty with a filter.

Folks that add too much experience blow-by out the vent tube into the air box and it slobbers, drools and pukes it everywhere.
