The stock shock was weak when new. Be a waste of money to buy a used one. People here recommend a Roadwing shock. It's a hybrid, a shock from a Goldwing made to fit the Roadstar. You can build your own or get one from one of our RSC members that's ready to mount.

What would the price be (approximately) for a ready mounted? In which Subforumcan this RSC members be found?

I don't ride two up often but we have been more lately. Yesterday we both felt like we had some compressed vertebrae when we got home. I'm going the Roadwing route finally. I asked her when we got home if I should buy one, she said no she's never getting on it again....lol.

My XV 1700 needs a new shock absorber because it is broken. I could get a used one very cheap. It's dry but 20 years and 40.000 miles old. Is that a problem? Are problems known or is it ok to try?
