Tough looking bike DermC. How do you like the handling with the straight bar? I've always wondered what it would be like to cafe' out a bobber. You're gettin' close there!

    • #6
Thanks ctkog!! The handling with the drag bar is much tighter It's just not great for long runs. I may give it a 1" riser just to ease it back a bit.

I've seen adjustable bar risers with the slot and the lockdown handle but I'm thinking they could make some better looking ones for cruisers... like maybe with chromed indexed teeth at two swivel points and chromed nicely all over.

Thanks CTKOG. I have a complete build story with photos on CHOPCULT.
IT is in the Japanese bike section. Title is Roadstar bobber.

Don't know if this qualifies as a bobber, same as Lucky finished right before the virus hit.Has round mirrors on it now.

Its amazing how much better these bikes look just removing the "horns" from the frame. I realize they serve some kind of structural integrity purpose, but damn, are they ugly!

          Not a Roadstar, but it's an 1100 V Star.
The engine guard has gone away since this pic was taken a couple weeks ago.

Maybe some day I'll finish my Roadstar bobber, it's still in 100 pieces.
