Tough looking bike DermC. How do you like the handling with the straight bar? I've always wondered what it would be like to cafe' out a bobber. You're gettin' close there!

    • #6
Thanks ctkog!! The handling with the drag bar is much tighter It's just not great for long runs. I may give it a 1" riser just to ease it back a bit.

I've seen adjustable bar risers with the slot and the lockdown handle but I'm thinking they could make some better looking ones for cruisers... like maybe with chromed indexed teeth at two swivel points and chromed nicely all over.

Its amazing how much better these bikes look just removing the "horns" from the frame. I realize they serve some kind of structural integrity purpose, but damn, are they ugly!

        Not a Roadstar, but it's an 1100 V Star.
The engine guard has gone away since this pic was taken a couple weeks ago.

Maybe some day I'll finish my Roadstar bobber, it's still in 100 pieces.

                  hi,
new hear but i've owned my xv1600 for about 9 years, brought a low milage example which spent about a year and a half on the road them i decided to rip it apart.
i haven't worked on it in quite a few years due to personal reasons but I'm back working on it, planning on bringing it out for summer next year.

here are a few pics of how it looked when it went into storage.
