    90.47hp 113.97 Torque

    Patrick Racing 110 cu in Big bore w/10.25:1 pistons

    Patrick Racing Cam 400 lift /238 duration

    HSR 45 carb w/170 main jet,#25 pilot jet

    Pro 1 racing ported heads w/+2mm valves

    Barrnett clutch

    I was hoping for a little more but this is what this bike is capable of producing. I guess when I ported the heads I must have been pretty close in the port job I did. Regardless of the increase over what I had this thing runs great. The porting that was just done put the Torque in a better spot and it hangs on a bit longer when the HP is still kicking in. The tune is about as perfect as you can get. Even the dyno operator/tuner said not to change a thing. My tuning was done using my on board AFR meter.

    Makes you wonder when people talk about a little over a hundred horse naturally aspirated on one of these and what all else could have been done LOL. So if I remember you picked up about three horsepower from your own hand ported heads?

        I'm not sure. Mine isn't lacking fuel or air so I think it is what our bikes are cable of. Read my post below.

      Yep that is about right plus a little on Torque, but it is all in a little different spot in the RPM range. I think with a 2-1 exhaust it would pick up a few more hp. As far as the guys talking about over 100hp either they have never really invested in a dyno run or they are riding a Warrior with twin throttle bodies and way different exhaust port/ head configuration. I know when I talked to Nigel at Patrick racing he was talking about 100hp and possibly a bit more with a 2-1 exhaust. Keep in mind that is with him doing the tune on a PC5. I think I got caught up in his Warrior numbers and was hoping for something about the same No harm no foul because this thing pulls like a train. I am very happy with the way it performs. Even talking to Nigel he gives a few scenarios that things won't get to his numbers so you are not able to hold him to any HP/TQ range within even a few. I think alot of his is hype for our R*'s and maybe doable on the Warrior.

        When you look at the dyno sheet notice that when the TQ starts to drop off the HP keeps climbing all the way to the rev limit. It also starts to kick in earlier and at a steeper arc.

          Need to just stuff a Warrior motor in it and be done

            I got gobs more hp/tq than a stock Warrior I would have to go thru all this work again to maybe get better results.lol

          What's depressing is that some company makes a 140 cube HD motor that outs out 200hp....that sure would be fun.

            That would be downright scary.lol I've looked at a bunch of different HD dyno's and I am well above a HD CVO114 and way above a Milwaukee 8 in power.

              I think the new 117 cvo stock makes 100+hp and 115-120 torque at the tire if I remember correctly...but a $50k motorcycle should lol

              correction.....

              Running fourth-gear pulls, we got 93.75 hp at 4,870 rpm and 112.51 pound-feet of torque at 3,400 rpm

                I've achieved almost 45% more HP over stock and almost 15% tq over stock I wonder if the 117 CVO can be built to achieve the same increase's..

                  Well they have the luxury of people making up to 160 cube (T160) that I have seen....and the 143 cube makes 200 hp...so I imagine they can make 75% more power than stock with maximum effort. Any vtwin that make Busa level power is pretty impressive.

                      I can't quite read what the numbers are for the AFR. From what I've read in the past the AFR needs to be 14 - 15 for best results.

                        15 would be a bit lean at cruise but still safe. 14 is a good all around cruise/economy afr. Best tq comes in at about 13. - 13.5 and wot should be as low as in the 11's. Mine dips into the mid 11's on wot with the acc pump squirt and comes out of it and shows on the wot run at 13.21 AFR @3850 rpm. My 65 mph run afr is 13.95 and idle is 13.59 - 13.80 the fluctuation is due to the cam at idle. That is about as perfect as can be expected.

                            Nice to see you got concrete results and are pleased with them. Pretty cool the 1600 mill can get good numbers as long as you got some bucks to spend! JC

                              Mine started life as a 1700. But the 1600 is a 110 also after the kit.

                              I know Patrick Racing has claims of higher numbers but I don't know where he is getting them. I do know that I have a little loss (4-5 hp) from his numbers due to my Bassani dual exhaust compared to his numbers are produced with a 2-1 Pro pipe. I also think his numbers are based more towards a Warrior that has a completely different head design that will produce more power. Also wondering if his numbers are produced using a different smoothing on the dyno. With the smoothing turned off mine produced just over 92 hp and 115 tq. But that is just a number that it hit for a millisecond and not a good average number (true usable) that is produced using smoothing. Other than exhaust I don't see where I left anything on the table that would make any significant difference to make up the numbers Patrick claims.

                                What gear was used in the readings. Being that the last two are over driven I’m wondering if it affects the final results.

                              I’d be interested seeing numbers on a lighten crank shaft engine.

                                Duke, I'm sure Dave will correct me if I'm wrong...
                                But I seem to remember that he had the crank lightened & balanced when the did the original big bore job.

                                I didn't have any crank work done. I only did jugs/pistons.cam.carb and did a little DIY porting when I first did it. I didn't split the case.

                              Bikerron the pull was done in 4th. gear . That is the gear that was used in all the dynos I've had done. I would like to see a dyno from someone with the same mods but with the heads done by Patrick racing. My guy said there was nothing left on the table as far as the porting goes. There was nothing left to take out on the intake/exhaust ports. He had it was far as you would want to take it. I think if I had it to do again I would not have put in the larger valves. That would have increased the velocity and possibly raised the numbers.Or at least moved the TQ/hp to hang on a little longer in the curve. Then again I will never know and chasing 1-2 numbers isn't worth the trial and error$$ that you could get wrapped up in finding out.lol
