  • The transformation has begun

With just a few hours of work I can already see and feel the difference. Cost at this point is $0 but that's going to change rapidly as I begin to make some fundamental changes in the looks.

What are you going to do with the fairing?

I'll probably keep the fairing set-up for now. It cost an arm and a leg to get all that shit together +shipping = another leg. I can't imagine anyone would want to pay me for that.

Basically I'm going to turn this into a clone of the red 07 I sold last year...I doubled my money on it, but now I'm regretting the move.

  • #5
Much better, but what's the red bike? Not much difference between them.

Yep, that's the whole point PB. Some guy handed me a wad of cash for that red one and it's not in my stable anymore, so I'm going to clone it using my 06.

I am fond of the white one in the middle...classy yet refined

You know it's kinda funny, I've been riding that 06 around town here for a couple of years now and I can't ever remember somebody commenting on it's appearance. I strip it down and all of a sudden people notice...and that's exactly what I'm shooting for classy but refined.

Yeah, I am more of the classy guy myself, I like the white walls and natural curves of the bike. People start going and throwing this and that on there and you lose some of that in my opinion.

It's been a couple of weeks since I started this project and except for a few shiny bits that are currently out of stock...it's kinda almost done.

I dropped the glide fairing, tank bib, highway bar, passing lamps, front turn signals, rear turn signals, license plate bracket, passenger seat, rear foot pegs, sissy bar and luggage rack. I added mirrors with turn signals, grips, short pipes, fender brows, custom lay down plate holder and plate frame with turn signals.

The lowering fender kit would look awesome on your bike

The object of this article is to explain how to lower the rear fender on a Road Star.

Mike what kind of fairing was on your bike. I am looking for a frame mounted fairing for my project. A 2005 1700 that has been in a head on. cw

I did the Road Glide fairing with a frame mount. I'll post a pic below.
