Right now the carb has stock jetting. The exhaust is aftermarket. I was thinking that without the air filter it will pop and bang.
I would not be able to adjust it.

Today Monday June17th, 2019 I started the motorcycle up! It took some fiddling around before it started to run right.
At first it sounded like it was running on one cylinder. I turned the pilot air screw out more and then it straightened up and started to run better. I added two more Qts. of oil to the oil tank.
I am letting it cool down now. I will start it again with the air filter on and make final adjustments to the idle.
I am waiting for the air filter bottom bracket and bolts which are supposed to arrive today in the mail.
So the whole build took one year and 15 days approximately.

Very nice. Like to know how it runs/drives without the under drive. Oh, you probably corrected with the rear sprocket I imagine.

So, the belt turns slower than the engine RPM? Hmmm, I am having trouble wrapping my brain around this. Input is 1500rpm out put is 1000rpm?

              Great Build off

really like that you gave your Seat a little Makeover.
Also the chaindrive makes it really thin.

Damn, I am so in love with the stance of this bike. I have wanted to do a rigid frame Roadie for years. I didn't know that anyone was selling one. Did you have to do mods to the frame? Did it come with all the tabs and brackets needed to mount the motor? Will the stock front end fit, or did you have to get one that would fit a Harley?

            • #50
WOW......One year and 15 days latter, the result is OUTSTANDING !!!! I am in love with the front end, specially the rim.

I am waiting for some 10" baffles from KromeWX (England) that they say have no back pressure but lower the noise level.

I am putting a trailer together to take the bike to the MVD which is miles away from here.
It is a kit trailer from Northern tool.
You have to make an appointment so I do not want anything to go wrong.
With a trailer I can avoid going to the MVD in this 100 degree plus weather.
I will be in a air-conditioned van and arrive on time in comfort.

I had planned to take my black diamond build the the DMV tomorrow (August 16th) to get it registered but the trailer that I got for it would not work. When the bike is on the trailer and strapped down it would lean left or right about 30 degrees!
It tilted the hitch on the the ball too. It would be too dangerous to go on the road!!! Not kidding. The rating was for 750lbs.
and my bike is only about 500lbs. The trailer will have to be re constructed completely! Do NOT Buy ONE of these trailers!! The name was Ultra-Tow Single rail Folding motorcycle trailer 700lb. Capacity.

I have rescheduled the DMV registration for Sept. 10th. I think I will just get a permit to ride it there.

                  Yes that would be helpful.

I am writing a email to the Consumer Products Safety Commission so that the trailer cannot be sold anymore.

EDIT; The Consumer products Safety Commission said I should keep the trailer for 30 days. Hopefully they will come to look at it.

                  Hi Lucky'
I have a question on your Dyna3000, where did you set the timing curve at on the switches I had mine at the suggested 32 deg and the pipes turned instanley red changed it to 36 and seems good, just wondering

The color of your pipes has nothing to do with the timing.
If your pipes have no heat shields they will turn colors.

Hey Lucky, looking good there, man. I have somewhat similar plans for my 19-year old R*... Would you be willing to share the numbers on your frame geometry as you have it set up there? I am trying to pin down the final setup and it helps to see completed bikes with the same or similar specs.
                  Thanks

You would have to ask Cycleonemanufacturing about the measurements.

                  Great looking bike/build Lucky!

Glad you decided to not use that trailer, i read some of the reviews and was concerned your bike wouldn't make it back from the DMV! Too bad companies continue to market crap when they've had complaints and know there is an issue...

When one of the reviews said it was flimsy I wish they had went on to explain what that meant.
What it meant was that the main C shaped channel was too light and would literally twist left and right when the bike was strapped down !

I have reported it to the Consumer products safety Commission.
I am waiting to hear back from them.
They asked me to hold on to it for 30 days.

Hopefully they will come look at it.

Sorry about the bum deal on the trailer. Hopefully the commission will investigate and put an end to the sale of these unsafe trailers. Good luck.
