Looking good. Glad you posted it here. So what type of bars are you planning to go with?

I am going to use chrome bars and paint them gloss black. Black bars are a problem because you have to scrape the powder coat off to get good grounds and a smooth throttle. The design of the bars I am not sure about yet. Maybe Yamaha V Star bars?

      Great overall Look.
I like it, especially the Springer-Frontend.
But i think the Seat with its Springs is much to high with this mountingplate.

      The rest looks promising.

Absolutely stunning! Nice choice on the tank. So many people go with the Sportster peanut tank on these Bobber builds it's become passe'. Looking forward to seeing the finished product.

I'm an absolute sucker for the bobber style of bike... and the look of the hardtail, and all that. IF I were complain... It would only be about all the black... granted, it's Black Diamond, so my question becomes... do you have some plan so as to make it "pop"? Or, do you actually prefer the more subtle approach?

I'm not a bobber guy as I am more of a distance rider, but I can clearly see that that bike is a quality build. You are doing amazing work. It's one of the few bobbers that I have seen that begs me want to jump on her and blast around until I get my fill.

I'm a little concerned about the seat springs. How far down does that seat go in the back when you sit on it? Seems like if it drops at all, with your feet on forward controls you'll be pushing yourself right off the back of the seat, especially if you accelerate hard. I set up a Sportster very similar to this many years and 100 less pounds ago. Every time I punched it I ended up on the fender. As cool as the set-up looked, I had to change it for practical reasons. Lots of strain on the back and hands and arms if you are constantly having to pull yourself onto the seat.

Yes... I understand your concern. When I sit on the bike now the seat does not go down very much at all.
Of course when I test ride the bike I will make adjustments if needed to feel safe and comfortable.

Hey, we're due a right side look now, to see how the whole take-the-transfer-case-out look is working, and the right side chain drive! Tell us about what size, how many teeth, sprockets you're going with!

Yes- you are due a right side view of the bike.
The chain will be going on very soon. Delivery of the chain was delayed by bad weather across the plains.
The front sprocket is a 17T and the rear sprocket is 45T.
That is 2.64:1 Ratio. I will post a photo of chain on next week

The space that the transfer case took up is replaced with oil tank and electrics including a battery tray.
So the overall length is almost the same..

Hmmm, 2.647:1. And, reduced weight and driveline friction power loss. But, I think a belt may rob less power than a chain. The early 1600's, with a 33/70 sprockets is 2.12:1, and the later 32/70 is 2.188:, while the 31 tooth, with a 70 rear runs 2.26:1... At 2.65, reduced weigth, and probably lower friction with the entire transfer case out, that thing really out to scoot!!!

A roller chain has the lowest amount of friction. A belt is really tight and puts a strain on the bearings. You see broken belts on the freeway all the time.
A chain is the best way to drive the motorcycle.

You don't see any type of belt driven race bikes, do you? That says something.
