    Hello everyone new at the
    forum. I have a 2002 roadstar 1600 i am taking off the after market exhaust and installing the original. Can i leave the carb and air filter alone or i need to rejet to original specs. Right now i have stage 2 jets and hypercharger air intake. Thank you in advance for your wisdom.

    What air filter do you have now? Stock box or open filter?
    What pipes are you removing, and why are you going back with the stock
    pipes?

      Its a K and N hypercharger the reason i am going back to original exhaust is that i am shipping the bike over seas. Amd its just to loud.I am removing sampson straight shots.

    I would leave the carb alone initially & see if the motor is happy (or not). I prefer a motor running a little fat. It will run cooler & pull better on the Big End.
    If you have a problem fouling spark plugs, step the jetting down a baby step.
    Enjoy the ride !

    remember the HC used to have a different air vent to the top of vacuum slide also. if u smoke, makes a dandy ashtray.

      Where are you located?
      Pic of current exhaust?

      You will not be certain if jetting unless you physically remove and inspect them. Also, they Hypercharger (complete piece of shit useless air filter system BTW) calls for the air bleed jet to be changed out also SO if you remove the hypercharger you need to check the air bleed acrew/jet and verify if it's a 1mm or 2mm.

        I run a Baron's Big Air Kit on my fuelie. Don't know how it compares to other fully exposed filter setups, but this is the direction you want to go. Or AT LEAST open up the stock air box if that's the look you want. there's a write up on the site from someone who drilled one out and found success with it. If I hadn't have come across the BAK on ebay as someone's old stock, this is the route I was going to go just to get some airflow into the motor

          annnndddd ... I'm with Lug. what's your current exhaust? I've done the stage 3 on the stock, and I'm happy with it, it does sound really good without being overbearing.. but I might be looking to pick one up if the price is right

            I second on the stage 3 with the stock exhaust. Not obnoxious at all and a VERY nice "crack" when you want it. Nice tone and at highway speeds gives a great little rumble. I almost don't want to use the radio in my fairing as I'm lovin' the sound now of the big v-twin.
