Yeah I was thinking of one of those old-school aluminum-type diners with the futuristic look from the 50's, but our local burger joint has that old-school look as well, trimmed in lots of neon and the like, so I figured the general theme was a 50's hangout.

    • There's a place close to where I am from that used to be a feed store but now is a eating place but it doesn't look all chromed out: https://hopkinsicehouse.com/ or another place that is kinda styled that was but is new: https://www.tripadvisor.com/Restaura...gregationId=10 I am still looking around.

      • This one is about an hour away. Just don't know when I'll get to it. The prefab diners by Mountain View are an interesting piece of Americana.

Classic, I like the metal chairs out front. When I saw "Mountain View", I thought about the town in north Arkansas. I don't think it's big enough to have a diner like that, lol

      • I found one in Austin, TX but that is about 7 hours ride each direction. It's called: Hut's Hamburgers if someone is closer. I found one in Grand Prairie, It's about 4 hours from home. I should be close this weekend. Theo's Drive-In

        • I keep wanting to participate. But everytime I got one someone beats me to the punch. And too bad Diners are really not a thing here in Florida. They have em but not the cool ones like the Jefferson Diner we had up in NJ

I haven't found a "cool" diner, just diners that I think would qualify as 50s.

Don't give up! That's half the fun, trying to beat the next guy to the post Some times if you get one and someone else beat you to the post, post it anyway just so we can enjoy it.

Looks like that worked! What's next? You know the target is still two bikes of the same model next to one another on the StarBike forum. You could walk out and get that pretty easily.

Wow . Thank you Mort. Don’t know how you find all that stuff. Not that i am savy enough to do any of those things. How do you rotate that one pic?

        • That looks good to me, but it's not my decision. How can you go wrong with a 57 Chevy on the window?

Smooth riding bike. A little heavy on the front end for a skinny tall guy like myself but I’m adjusting! Recently replaced all the oils, filters, brakes, fuel pump, battery and the bike runs like new! Real happy with this bike!

              • I tried to give everyone a head start on this one since we're surrounded by these things. I instead got up and did some chores, mowed the lawns, and then got the bike out for a good reason to take a little unplanned ride.

We actually had one of these only a couple of miles down the road but I opted to head up the hill to this one which is about five miles from the house and halfway to Canada from us.

The guys who rode up to the dam with me during Starfest would have ridden right past this. It earmarks several sites, behind the signs as well as up and down the Pend O'Reille river. Can't see the river but it's behind the trees. It flows north into Canada before hitting the Columbia River and heading south back into the USA again.

Yeah it's hard not to like the scenery around here. Didn't really get the mountain peaks in but the general area works well! Time to get back out and do some weed-eating LOL.

              • Next challenge? How about someone parked in front of or below a bridge, preferably below one. On top of one doesn't count, including on the road aside or going over it. Under an overpass would work, but would prefer something a bit more fancy, especially something historic.

The pic below would be ideal, though it might be tough to get an RS on the sandbar there! This was taken below our vacation home, with Anne and our Rott in the pic.

Reminds me. Got to get some fishing in this evening!

Got that fishing in! 3 lb. 18" Cutthroat trout! Best fight ever on this river!

              • Here's one showing the peaks above. Selkirk Mountains in NE Washington State, just north of where Starfest NW 2022 was held this year. Duke rode past this with me on the day before the event since he arrived early. Just south of Boundary Dam where The Postman movie shot the scenes with musician Tom Petty.

                • Nice scenery! That river looks like a great river to go fishing in.
It has been so dry here, the 2 rivers around me have dried up. Yes, we have broken records on the number of 100 +days this year, but that has not contributed to the dry conditions. Both of these rivers have dried up before, when it was not near as hot.

Reminds me of when I was living in California. You knew it was wet when the rivers had water in them. Otherwise they were just sand or dry canals.
