I was able to get some time to start cleaning up the bike. Looking at eBay to find a bracket for the headlight. I guess that is a common issue to break off the tab that holds in the light assembly. From now on I will always check the tube size and not rely on the box markings. I am still dealing with my decision, as some of you know I have a lot on my plate right now. Did I mention we are looking for a different home? I had a great time though overall, only ran about 38 miles in some rain, and bike ran good. Highest MPG was 50 going downhill into Orofino and a lot at 35-37 going indicated 80 on the interstate. Later...LD

He has some great stories too! I need to thank everyone who helped me get off the highway, make calls, try to calm my nerves, and just help in any way possible. The RSC shines when things like this happens. THANK YOU!!!

I think you get the high mileage award Duke should be coming in a close second.

So the 110 tube was actually over-inflated to fit the 130 tire. Never would have though of that.

Thank you Steve. I was just curious because I'm running the same tire as Lyndon is running. My tube is a stock Yamaha and I've noticed some other brands of tubes are thinner in rubber.

How did the tire repair go, and what did they find that caused the leak?
His tube was a 110 instead of a 130 and had a 1” split on the nipple side. He said he ordered it online and the box said 130, but neither he or the installer looked at the actual tube markings. I made a call to a MC shop I found online and woke the dude up Sunday AM. His brick and motor shop closed years ago, but he still did online sales and had all his equipment. Nice guy, willing to help another biker out. Lyndon has great photos of his shop and collections. A couple in the motel from Boise drove Lyndon to the top of one of the many hills nearby to get it fixed. They saved the day!

Thank you Steve and Sarah, for the eats, beer, grips, and great hospitality.
Made it home last night, safe and sound, I'll be posting some pictures as soon as I get them down loaded. I still have a itchy right hand, lol.
Told the wife about a meet at Northern California, her eyes lit up, and said she will not miss that meet.

Anyone wanting to have a get together around the Four Corners area around the end of August or mid September this year, or next year, please contact me.
    Duke.

Great vids Darrel. I embarrassed myself at least twice coming home. When coming into Lewiston, ID, I passed a string of cars that were doing about 60 only to get sandwiched between them and an oncoming semi. Even though I had enough room, the first car freaked and swerved to his right. Then while turning left at the junction after Washtucna, WA, I looked both ways, saw cars in both directions and mistakenly proceeded to turn left into an oncoming car doing 60. I stopped and he freaked out, pulling around me. Had pounding rain from the top of Snoqualmie Pass west for about 30 minutes. Don’t get too relaxed y’all!

On the way home I caught up with Duke and Mike in Lolo. We had a great lunch and then we were on our way. Thunderstorms were barking when we were in the parking lot. I chased a storm out of Missoula. I stopped on the interstate for a few minutes to let some rain finish off, but other than that I just had some wet pavement. I got home around 4, unpacked, then took a nap.

Here's some video. About 1.5 hours of unedited twisties. My camera is mounted to the bars. That perspective loses some of the speed for ride. Everyone agreed that the video seems a lot slower than the actual ride. Generally we were 15-25 over the corners' posted limit. Keep that in mind when you see the limit signs.

Hwy 12 along the Clearwater River south of Orofino Idaho

Coming down Harris Ridge Road East of Kooskia Idaho.

Coming down Mt. Idaho Grade Road then onto Hwy 14 up to Elk City
