Seems like you need to get her an adventure trike!

All the bolts fell out of the front fork brace and the fender stay was lost. Reverse handle pin sheared so no reverse or park break which wasn’t a biggy but the main thing was it started running on 4 or 5 cylinders and no low throttle response. It would bog then jump to 1500-2000 rpm and had a miss at highway speed and was making it difficult for her to ride and we weren’t sure if or when it would become unrideable. We made KFalls and home the next day when I couldn’t fix it. We went down some gnarly roads and one was 23 miles of gravel washboard

OK, I'm curious, what happened to the trike?

ID:	161469 Well. We are home. Had to cut the trip a little short due to mechanical issues with the goldwing trike. 2716 miles. Not all the roads were paved.

That's a lot of bikes on Saturday!

I toured several of those military batteries back when I was a kid. They were pretty cool back then.

It was good getting a chance to meet a couple of you guys in person. Was hoping to get a chance to hang out and talk R* with y’all at the ocean, but ended up really enjoying hanging with MikeC, YamaDave (big props on trailering that bike out to the farm), Shores and Duke while wrenching on the bike. On a side note: it was an absolute pleasure getting a chance to see Duke in action; would have taken Mike and me at least a few hours to swap that belt, but with Duke’s experience and knowledge he knocked out in about an hour. Was very impressive to watch how efficiently he swapped that belt and replaced Mike’s rear brake pads. Looking forward to next year; will definitely take the week off to ride and hang. Thanks to all.

I made it home on Wednesday. 3885 miles round trip. I had a great time. This is a great group of riders with a no rider left behind attitude. Thank you to all who brought food, tables, and accessories, for the group. Now i need to wash my bike and get ready for Sturgis!!

17 bikes and 18 people on Friday, about 22 or 23 bikes on Saturday. The coastline has a lot of old military batteries and that particular one is at Fort Warden.

I’ll be posting something soon, but I’m thinking the 2nd, or 3rd week of September.

I hope-to-hell I can break away for that ride, Ken. I was thinking the exact same thing when reading higher-up this thread. I'd probably be trailering down. Too bad I couldn't bring my Jeep along the same route and hit Moab after our ride...

It was really good to see everyone again, and to meet a few new people. I like how we all get together and doesn’t seem like a year since some if of have seen or talked to each other. I’m already looking forward to next year.

I need to put a RSC sticker on the 99 miles sign.
You're definitely an inspiration, Darrell! Love the Lolo 99 mile sign. Looks like an opportunity to even out the tire wear a bit, shifting from bottom to sides--

Maybe after I get rid of a renovation project or two I'll be able to justify the 'good weather' time to escape for an epic ride with you--
