Anyone in Oregon interested in putting together a ride before we lose the weather?

I'm thinking we could ride down from Washington on Friday, do a Saturday ride, then ride home, giving us three days of riding, unless for some reason we opt to trailer down (to save Anne's butt). I'd probably prefer around 300 miles of riding with some fun stops along the way to break it up a bit.

I know you guys already have some good routes down there. When I was living in Bend it seemed like it would have been fun to ride the pass that goes through Detroit Lake and then back over one of the others. An Eastern Oregon route might be most optimal as it pertains to decent weather. Even a Mt. Bachelor run down to Sunriver would make part of a good loop.

Not interest in riding in the rain myself, at all. Crater Lake and the coast are fun as well, have done both.

Just tossing it out there. Starfest NW was fun, good group of riders, and would look forward to something similar down there.

Mike and Janetta are heading to Wyoming August 26th and returning September 5th. I would meet you somewhere in Central Washington and lead you on some roads down south. Wouldn't necessarily make it multiple days but could get you down there and orient you to the Washington roads. Maybe back roads to Mount Saint Helens Johnson observatory. Check out Highway 3 and rattlesnake canyon down into Enterprise Oregon. Also check out Sray Oregon.

I'm thinking Oregon since I used to live in Bend and want a good excuse to get back through there; Deschutes Brewery and all (great restaurant too).

But I'm sure you've got some great routes as well. Weather permitting, I'm thinking Saturday the 13th or 20th. Nothing set in stone on my end for sure. Even September.

That sounds fun, we will be going up the rattlesnake and out thru Lolo Pass on the second day out (Aug. 27th). We will stay the night of the 26th in La Grande and the night of the 27th in Missoula.

Dang. I'd like to ride over and meet up for Lolo pass. But I have a big 4x4 day on the 27th.

If anyone would like to hang with us for the day we will probably leave the motel in La Grand about 8am.
The first days ride will leave our place in Sweet Home about 10am and going out thru Redmond, Prineville, Mt Vernon, Ukiah to LaGrande. Some nice roads on that route too.

Will you be riding the Interstate from La Grande heading east? I may consider doing your first day but will have to wait on the weather once we're closer to that date. The Interstate east of La Grande is pretty nice for a while.

I work weekends……I’m doing a run on Tuesday though from Madras through Antelope - Fossil - Spray - Mitchell- Prineville - back to Madras about 250ish miles.

That might be a fun run. We can do weekdays, depending on Anne's schedule. Too often she flies out on short notice. I know she mentioned she's got something going on next week, can't remember which days. I'll have to ask her in the morning.

Are you going alone, or riding with others? Should we be able to pull it off, can we join up?

From La Grande we will head out 82 to Enterprise then North on 3 up the Rattlesnake to Lewiston where we will pick up hwy 12 and go East up thru Lolo pass and stop for the night in Missoula. The third day from Missoula to Columbus will be interstate 90 all day. Can’t have our cake and eat it too. The 4th day we will head South from Columbus to Lovell and then East on 14 to Pine Haven

I’m riding with a couple of guys from work. More than welcome to join…..not sure what time we are leaving yet but it might be 9ish…..gotta check the route heard there was a wildfire that may stop us…….

Anne just informed me that she leaves Tuesday for a week for work. Thanks for the invite though, definitely a fun run on your end. Not sure what to do with the pets so I'll have to figure it out as it pertains to me making a solo run for three days.
