Hands-On In-Person Repair-Mod WINTER CLINIC for Fly-in/Drive-in? Feasible?

As I spend my day dealing with frozen pipes and shoveling snow from sidewalks, I find myself thinking about some kind of a hands-on clinic somewhere in the USA.

It seems many of us are asking about or dealing with the same repairs, mods, and upgrades, and I was thinking it might be kind of cool to do a weekend clinic somewhere that folks could fly or drive into for a weekend of fun, learning, and repair. Vegas would be a great place because of weather and cheap flights from most anywhere, but could we make it happen?

I was thinking that some guys would tow their bikes in for planned fixes and mods, in several different categories. Roadwing, carbs, suspension, pumpless, and other mods that so many of us may want to take on.

Gives us a way to meetup in the winter months while bringing it closer to home. We could video everything to archive on the site.

Who'd consider attending such an event? I think it would be fun and educational. Locations? Anyone have a shop big enough to handle several bikes and attendees at the same time?

We did this at the Meet N Greet in Celina OH....but that ended a few years back. Had lines of bikes getting proper jetting ...tents with "how to" mods ...

Never happen... # 1 reason Folks ride Road Stars...'cause they are poor. Little room in the budget for flights, road trips, and such. Nice thought.

Oh hell, on a good day you can fly to Vegas via Allegiant for $36 from most anywhere on their schedule! Off season rooms in Vegas can be pretty damned cheap as well. Takes a little planning. Then again, where to hold a clinic is another matter, the actual building. I'll have to think about who we know down there. Only been gone for a few years but the memory is already fading!

Not only do I ride a Roadstar because I am on a limited budget, but I also ride a fuel injected Roadstar which has zero problems. Anything I needed to know, I learned here. "Roadstar Clinic bean bedy bedy good to me!"

That sounds cool, but getting something together like that and having enough support might be hard.
Time to arrange something like that would be, before or after a Meet & Greet, and anyone interested would have to have scheduling at that time.

Houz about we do a Zoom meet and greet! That would be easy to pull off. Who knows how to start that?

That is easy enough. We just pick a day and ti.e and post it up on a zoom scheduled meeting. Post the scheduled zoom meeting here with link or ask everyone who is interested in attending to send the host there email to put into the meeting scheduled and then the host starts the meeting at the designated time and day.

Not wearing pants was not his issue. I don't think anyone would see or care about that. It's what you are doing during the meeting without your pants that would be objectionable.

I've setup a Zoom meeting for StarBike forums. We've done this for about a year now (every month or two). It is kind of nice as you can talk bikes with others and put names and faces together. It's actually been pretty cool and feels like a meet & greet.

As mentioned, I'd create a meeting and then share the meeting information in a private message to members interested.

But what if we took it a step further, and did a meet while someone pulled a clutch or carb, for example, with questions and requests along the way? I know Zoom is normally with a computer's camera, but I'd assume the same can be done with a smart phone? Someone can hold the phone to zoom in on the work at hand while others watch and comment. I dunno, may be too long to be practical.

I've done two clutches...two oil pump gears....three carbs.....in past couple months lol. Did oil/filter changes, transfer case fluid changes, plugs, brake fluid flushes also. Have some pics but no videos lol

Lug Nut , Now THAT'S what I'm talking about! Maybe we need to start seeing if we can setup a live feed before getting into something like that? Maybe on a Saturday when people can free-up and join in? I most like the idea that someone can ask for a close-up of a particular angle, for example, before it proceeds further, or even after the fact. Interactive tech learning.

I'll buy the beer for the camera operator and mechanic!
