How many rooms total between the two motels?

19 rooms between the two, and around 9 more a short ride north along the river. About ten minutes north along the river are 10-20 more.

I have booked a room for two at the Riverside Hotel for the 13th thru the 17th of July. They said the price for two beds is $100., one bed is $90., and the balcony rooms are $110.. A person can cancel with no charges if canceled 48 hours before. They have 12 rooms and no one has booked yet. I mentioned the Roadstarclinic might be having a event during that week.
Looks like it’s going to be around 1400 miles for the route I’ll be taking.

When you call, mention starfest or roadstar clinic. Duke are you spending five nights? I just booked three nights for the 14th, 15th and 16th. Most folks will arrive on the 14th and leave on the 17th.

I’m planning on being there Wednesday evening and leaving Sunday morning, unless I feel like staying some extra days. My wife might be coming along. It’s time for her to see the sites and meet the good people. Is Sara coming this year Steve? Lisa won’t go for any long rides and She’d like to meet Sara.

If we haven't maxxed this out by early January then I or we may want to book a room or two just to hold them until we can fill them with others.

Maryann, the owner, told me that the utility company starts their summer booking in mid-January or after. They usually have 3-4 rooms which almost always include the lake-view end rooms. If we don't book in advance, she wanted a $1k deposit to secure the entire motel for us.

If we have a flurry of bookings soon, she may waive that and trust us and block off the motel for the weekend.

We should probably let her know that our members will all be mentioning the RSC or Road Star Clinic; that way she can screen in advance should anyone else try to get in before we take them all.

I don't think she has decided yet. If she does she will come in her car and just spend the night or two. She may work it in to visiting friends in the area. She's not good for more than an hour on my bike and I don't even have a passenger seat.

Just in case there's some confusion, the town is called Ione, pronounced 'eye-own', not 'Lone' like a lone wolf.

I'm 6 hours from Ione. Most of it is enroute to Spokane, which I've done many many times. I'm really considering tripping up through Canada instead.

You can take the North Cascades Highway and then cut across from there if you prefer to stay in Washington, another awesome ride. But then you'll take in maybe a third of one of our rides before you get up there, depending on which way you go. Canada would be awesome though, providing you can navigate the border crossing.

Take the North Cascades over and then cross into Canada once you hit Eastern Washington, head east across BC, then head south toward Metaline Falls from there, keeping you off the planned routes while still getting some amazing riding in.

UPDATE: LOL strike that! I thought you were west side, but see you're actually Montana. Fun ride for sure!

So, it has been proposed to me that instead of a 2023 PNW Star Fest to make it a Southwest Star Fest in Dukes neck of the woods and we can all go down there. What do you all think about that?

That could be an interesting idea for sure…..I’ve never really been down in that area of the country other than flying over
