Route two is kind of inconsequential, It was going to be East on Hwy 2 thru Sandpoint, Left on Riverside St in Bonners Ferry, becomes 18/West Side Rd, Right on 45, Right on 1, Right/South on 95, Left on 2, Just passed Troy take a Left on 56, Right on 200, Left on 95 back in Sandpoint, Right on Dufort Rd, Right on Wisconsin and back to Priest River.

If we were staying in Colville we could keep ride one and do this below for ride 2.

East on 3rd St. out of Colville, Left on Aladdin Rd, Right on Fir, becomes Silver Crown, becomes 4th, Right on Center Ave/25., Left on Northport Flat Creek/4005, Right on 395, Left on Boulder Creek/61, Left on 21, Left on Bridge Creek/2, Left on Inchelium Kettle Falls Rd/3, Right on 20, Right on 20, Right on 395 back to Colville. BUT BETTER

    Better ride 2
Leave Colville West on 20 to Tonasker, Left on 97/20, Left on 155 at Omak, Left on D St in Omak, Left on 10th, Right on C St, becomes Cache Creek, Left on 21, Right on Bridge Creek/2, Left on Inchelium Kettle Falls Rd/3, Right on 20, Right on 20, Right on 395 back to Colville.
Better ride 2 has lines on the roads, that first ride two is a lot of forest service roads.

Ride #1 is in my wheelhouse. Remember the project that kept me from this year's ride? It's in Metaline Falls. I'm up there ten days out of twelve about now. Just my route from one project to the other is totally enjoyable, Highway 2 to MF, 135 miles and 2.5 hours each way. Tons of deer and turkey on the roads, however, and we had a bear in our yard a few weeks ago. Covers the Columbia River, Pend O'Reille River, and more.

Another (highway) option would be Stevens Pass (Highway 2) and North Cascades Highway loop. Gorgeous. Covers the Bavarian town of Leavenworth and old-west towns of Twisp and Winthrop.

The ride from Colville to Ione over Tiger Pass is a nice one. Bring your fishing pole... Lots of lakes but mostly forest.

We could serve lunch at one of our places in Metaline Falls, if we don't sell by then! Great side run would be up to the town of Nelson, BC, in Canada. Metaline Falls is 12 miles from the border. Nelson is a cool little town in a gorgeous setting on a lake, essentially established by Vietnam draft-dodgers in the 60's/70's. Trendy little culture. If you want to do Canada, any items you didn't want to cross the border with, such as firearms, could be left at our place. A good ride would be to cross the border above Metaline falls, then west through Canada to the border crossing on the Kettle River (a favorite trout stream of mine) then back down toward Colville or continue south along the Columbia River before cutting back over further south.

July can be hot, but rain up there can come most any day. Metaline Falls is where they filmed much of the Kevin Costner flick, 'The Postman', with one of the river scenes shot virtually from our back yard. Sullivan Lake is a nice ride as well, from Metaline Falls up to the lake and down through Ione, but can also ride south along the river and around the general area from there as well.

I think about doing rides up there all the time. Great roads and gorgeous scenery. I used to live near Priest River in the 70's, outside Sandpoint, near Dufort Road. Passed through again a few months ago.

My wife lived there in the 70's and early 80's Do you know a Jenetta? or the Gans family. Bernice worked at the corner kitchen and down town cafe as a waitress. Bill Bartells was Jenetta's uncle.

MikeyC , she lived in Metaline Falls or Colville? We've met a lot of people in MF but Colville's 45 miles west so we don't know many there. We bought up there in 2018.

Here's the town of Metaline Falls taken from Washington Rock above the town. Highway 31 runs up the right side of the river (Pend O'Reille River), and Sullivan Lake is beyond the hills on the left side of the pic. The historic Washington Hotel has plenty of rooms, but it's old-school hotel style, with shared bathrooms/showers down the hall and pretty cheap rates. Right on Main St (5th Ave) and a block from our projects. Bike parking right on the street. Much of the Costner movie was filmed right there.

The next shot is from our back yard. Early risers are welcome to hike the trail down our bank and catch their share of Smallmouth Bass and a variety of trout.

Here's a shot from below our place mid-summer when the water level was down. The bridge is the road into town.

Lord willing and the creek don't rise, we'll find a way to join in next year if it's anywhere in the area. Plenty of routes and after-the-ride side-runs (15-30 miles) all around.

I live in Post Falls, Idaho. The white horse saloon is in spirit lake, roughly 20 miles from priest river. Little bitty hotel.

I thought the plan was Priest River?
