I mentioned this in another post, I'm going to the Oyster Run. We could call that the PNW Starfest and all meet in Anacortes for the week end. It's not that life is so short, it's just that you're dead for so long.---unknown.

The only issue with that is the weather can be really iffy that late in September. Personally I think we should go South since we haven't done that yet. I don't know the area that well, but I can take a look at the Butler Maps.. I was kind of thinking Crater Lake, to Shasta area? The Coast down to Brookings to the Redwoods would be nice too.

O.k. maybe notWe'll keep the PNW Starfest a stand along event.
Have we nailed down a date yet? I got my suggestion up there. Get some other suggestions and see what works for people? or should we work on venue first? It's not that life is so short, it's just that you're dead for so long.---unknown.

No my prison is on the list to be closed by Jan 2022....she is trying to do this through Executive Action since the last time it went through the legislature it was voted down and 2 days after that she said how disappointed she was in the decision and that she will look at every possible way to do it anyways and that "revenge is a dish best served cold and slowly". We are still fighting but not sure what can be done at this point......if it happens I will be living somewhere in Salem area in a rental while the wife and kids stay here....

So, I like the Montana Idea and Road to the Sun. Southern would be good to maybe get some of those California guys. Dates could be dependent on area. Like Tykes said, earlier would be best for snow areas and latter would be better for desert areas as long as there is not a pass that has to be traversed to get there. It's not that life is so short, it's just that you're dead for so long.---unknown.

Before we set a location, I suggest we ask for a headcount of those who would attend if they can get the time off. Additionally, identify reasonably priced lodging. Though the location is beautiful, it would not be my first choice due to the distance from me.

Tough to say for me, with the new job I don't have as much leeway with vacation as I did with the last job. I would prefer closer and it seems pretty much anything hotel wise not sketchy AF is around $100-$125/ night. What options are there up north of you Steve?2000 Roadstar 1600 - BAK, Pumpless, Curt's manifold, Mikuni HSR42 Freedom Combat Pipes Jumbo Strong bags, PPG 'HellFire' Paint.

Now we're getting somewhere. How bout we keep it kinda close to home this year like Oregon/Washington border and pick some rides from there? Or, Newport, Oregon sounds like a nice starting place
I have a place to stay there and we could party on the boat
They have an RV park, hotel nearby.
Of course, close to home boils down to close to who's homeThere are nice day rides from Newport. There are cool day rides from Grants Pass. Cool day rides from Astoria/Longbeach even from Biggs Junction up the gorge.
How does July 23 to 25 work for everybody? Just to get a date set. It's not that life is so short, it's just that you're dead for so long.---unknown.

I'm going to make some phone calls to Enterprise and Joseph in the Hells Canyon area this week to see what their hotel prices would be, availability of barbecue, outdoor dining, etc. Early September there would probably be better weather.

I really liked the idea of Montana but I think we need more time to plan that trip. Maybe 2022 NW Starfest....up the coast throughTillamook to seaside to Astoria good rides that way.....never ridden Hell’s Canyon so that’s interesting as well....

I like the Hells Canyon idea. Joseph/Enterprise area. Hwy 3 North out of Enterprise turns to Hwy 129 when it enters Washington. That is a bucket list ride if you haven't ridden it. It would be an up and back ride. Could loop out to Troy for lunch. There is some gravel involved in Troy depending on the route but up and back on Hwy 3 is all asphalt and into Troy from the North is almost all asphalt now. One section got washed out and is /was gravel and the streets in town are dirt.
From Joseph to Hells Canyon Dam loop would be 7+hours and up and back would be 6+ hours. For Hells Canyon maybe stay in Halfway or Baker City although that would probably leave out Hwy 3 as a day ride, but that could be for another time.
Yea Steve! Keep the ball rolling! It's not that life is so short, it's just that you're dead for so long.---unknown.

An idea for future meets might be to not call it the PNW meet but just the RS Clinic meet and have someone just host it in their area. Then we could do Montana or Arizona or California or even Arkansas, I've been wanting to make that one. Just an idea. The one in Arkansas is at the same place every year so makes it a little easier, I kinda like our moving around. It's not that life is so short, it's just that you're dead for so long.---unknown.

My wifey is NOT on board with SeptemberJuly 23 to 25 still works best for us even for Hells Canyon. But this is a democracy and it goes with the popular vote
but I have been informed how I will vote.
