  • 2000 road star just finished

I've been working on this bike for a long while now and I'm happy to say it's pretty much done. Figured I'd get some thoughts.

Pretty sweet. What do you have in mind for an air breather and mirrors? My bike is set up very much like this, beach bars, short pipes, no shrouds, and so on. I went with round mirrors 'cause It's a retro look and that's what fits. I found some on ebay that have the correct Yamaha ass backwards thread adapter for around $30. Yes they are Chinese but so far seem to be holding up. I also went with a round brake pedal, I just didn't like the Yamaha one, seemed out of place also. Anyway, nice job, best of luck finishing it up.

My mirrors are pretty beat up. Victims of me learning to ride on an 800 pound bike!

I've been looking at replacing them (though it's not a priority). Tell me more about these thread adapters that you speak of? I can't just order any old mirrors? How do I ensure they will fit before I place an order?

I was thinking of going for tue barons air kit but it can wait, for now stock will do ok. I gota adjust my carb cause I went pumpless, but right now the tank is soaking in vinegar before I coat the I side.as for mirrors idk really. Maybe a pair of rectangular ones but I'd have to see what looks best. But right now all that's left is a few adjustments and tune ups before I'm finally "done"

I like it, I think that either lowering the rear with the flip and grind (no money) or even the fender lowering kit (keep same ground clearance) would look nice on it. bike looks bad ass though.
owning a motorcycle is not a matter of life or death, it is much more important than that

To keep everything clean I went with rear view mirrors with built in blinkers up front and for the rear used the LED lighted license plate mount.

A great example of when less is more.
