I wasn't expecting this bike to be as nice as it is. I was very pleasantly surprised. I think I'm going to sell my black Road Star and keep this bike. Have run out of room so one of them has to go so I have room enough to get the other bikes out lol. I would stop by his Yamahas if I stop getting such a good deals on them lol

The first step to rehabilitation is admitting you have a problem! I'm sure there's a 12-step program for what's ailing you!

12 steps, but I only have nine motorcycles. The math just doesn't work out

Well I think you need at least 3 more…….and then store them in my garage……think expansion like franchising your business…..I can be your west coast local shop that way you can just come out for Starfest and get on a bike stored here……this is a great idea let’s make it happen….

Nice looking bike. What kind of range can you get on a tank of gas?

I think you ought to sell 2-3 of them while the gettin's good. Then you can double that when things swing downward. Take yourself down to about three bikes and then fire on the hot stuff.

And I second what Ahodge75 said about storing some out west. Put a couple here as well, then Aaron and I can ride them back and forth just to mix the inventory up a bit from location to location. Might even sell a few.

I've sold three in the past 6 weeks. Definitely a good time to sell but I can't pass up a good deal like this. I still have a little put back when the good deal start rolling in. I sold a truck and a boat this year also. Going to wait and try to get a good deal and a really nice pontoon boat but no luck right now. Prices are still outrageous. The range on these realistically is about 130 mi. It has a 3.7 gallon main tank and a 0.8 gallon auxiliary tank or the fuel pump resides. You do not want to use up that auxiliary tank because it cools the fuel pump. Not unless you like spending $600 on a fuel pump. So I can get typically 45 miles per gallon going 60 miles an hour and when I'm going my normal 85 to 90 I get about 32 to 34 mi to gallon. So I know that when I stop for gas around 120 to 140 mi I'm putting in 3 and 1/2 to 3.7 gallons. Which is right where I want to be at. But these are longer bigger better riding machines than a road star and tons more power.

45 is actually pretty good, but they need to add another gallon to that tank since you can't run that aux down.

Pontoon boats = winter buying. Or October? End-of-the-season!

I think thin the herd now and wait on the weather and economy to do some buying. Otherwise, next spring, while hoping for a better economic climate?

I'm hardly the one to talk, I've got $100k of inventory sitting in my warehouse that I want absolutely nothing to do with after doing online sales for 23+ years... Only one street bike, but quad, side-by-side, Jeep, five boats, and the list goes on! I feel your 'pain'.

                Very nice bike!

Its not a problem. I have 3 bikes, a pitbike, two atvs, and the roomate has two bikes in the garage. Had two more but sold em. Just wish I had room to pull the MG in the garage to work on it. Thats the only downfall.

Plenty of room for the MG. Just move everything else outside! See what I did there? :-)

Checked belt tension wheel alignment and it was dead nuts perfect. Never had that before. Set tire pressure degreased and washed bike thoroughly. I'll dried and ready to go ride tomorrow. Never had this type of silver bike before I kind of like it.

This thing was obviously garged its entire life because it has zero pitting on the Chrome I was really amazed.

Scott, what are all the rugs for under the bike? Is that just for comfort while you're cleaning/working on them or is there another purpose?

                            • #19
I had these rugs for the past several years and I just throw them down on concrete. It is nice to land those when servicing bikes. Keep stains off concrete when you're changing oil differential fluid transfer case fluid etc

That's what I wondered. But wasn't sure if maybe with changing temps and concrete floor if that helped with moisture on the bikes.
