New to me 2008

Wheeled and dealed....drove 900+miles round trip today to get it.

2008 Midnight with silverado trim added

9500 miles original owner title shows zero miles in early 2009.

Cobra Dragsters and power commander fuel processor and junk stereo but otherwise stock and unmolested. Inwill ripnout fuel processor and stereo and put in a new battery (and change plugs, oil and filter, transfer case fluid, brake fluid, empty tank and put in fresh 87 and seafoam and all the other usual checks)

Fuel contrler set wrong and too rich...fouls plugs. Owner put in new battery and brand new tires in 2018 and parked in garage under cover. Battery dead started right up on jumper pack and ran fine.

Stopped on way home and power washed off 4 years of dust and cobwebs...
Was gonna be a flip but may be a keeper since its a fuelie one owner low mileage with complete chrome front end and the whole Silverado package and cast wheels instead of spokes.

Owner didnt want to mess with it at all since he bought a new Harley. He didnt bother putting in a new battery or cleaning it at all...

Got it for $2000.....

If you are gonna keep it why not be the first one to bring it to a good Dyno Tuner shop (not dealership) and have the fuel controller set properly? Depending on the tuner you may be able to set a higher rpm and timing. When I say good shop find a private shop that dyno tunes sport bikes that actually has a dyno not just install pre set maps that don't work.

I actually never even thought of that. Whatever the dealer downloaded and installed is obviously way too rich. Seeing how it does have an 02 sensor a chassidina would be a good idea.I'll call schnitz racing and see what they would charge for something like that

My 2009 with 9300 miles had a lot of rust in the tank and a clogged fuel pump/fuel filter had disintegrated… IF you spot some rust inside you may want to replace the fuel filter inside the fuel pump inside the tank… I just did mine and can share with you the details..

Looked clean yesterday and started right up on battery pack but ill use a good flash light and Ipour gas out into a glass jar to inspect. But it is amazing how rust can get in there even fairly new

I had the same height windshield as you, but cut it down yesterday. I took off about 4 inches so I can see over the top

Did you check to see if you still had your baffles in place? I suspect there might be more than one size baffle available too

It has baffles I just don't like the pulse of these pipes. I have the tall windshield but I'm fairly tall and can see over it easily without cutting it down for now. Will likely not have it on all the time

well other than what I have for exhaust, about all I would go for as a replacement would be both side, duellys and I dont see that happing do to price of.

Lug Nut, have you got the bike on the road yet? I'm wondering how its running (if using with or without the programmer) and what Kind of fuel mileage you are getting.. I got mine set up with new suspension front and rear, and tires, (notice only alittle drag on the brake pads) adjusted belt tension, tire pressure, trimmed the windshield for my height. I'm thinking my fuel mileage might be a lttile low at about 35 mpg, with mostly hwy and secondary back roads, just me at 140lbs..about 105 mile loop, but I would expect better than 40mpg considering I wasn't not hard on the throttle. I'm not sure of the Ethanol content, but I'm using 89 octane.. I occasionally smell gas, but not sure if its a leak or just venting of the fuel tank. the Cobra Dragsters do have the OX2 sensors in place, and baffles too.

My '08 seems to be in the 35 range most of the time. Some outings with fewer stops have gotten as high as 42. But generally riding back an forth to work and around it seems mid 30's is the most common.

My '09 also gets in the 35-40 range most of the time.

Brad, are you still stock? I've had many large road bikes, mostly Vtwins, couple six cylinders, , but when I dropped below 38 mpg on any of them.. I had to start searching for reasons or cause.. Most the time with similar riding, I would be in the 42- 47 mpg ranges.. I'm wondering about the 15% fuel mandate (if its already at the stations) and I'm wondering about a possible small leak (only when its running..

Yep, stock intake and mufflers. Have a tall windscreen and lower deflectors and hard bags (windscreen will knock things down a bit). I do tend to run the 10% ethanol since it's often the only option at some stops.
