  • Roadstar Replacement

Some of you know I sold the Roadstar as I had the chance to buy my dream bike. She’s home now and I’ve run it around for the last week. It’s amazing! If it’s ok with ya’ll I’d still like to hang around.

It’s a ‘17 Indian Roadmaster. This bike has 4,910 miles on it and has a full stage 2 setup from Indian. Only difference is the slip ons, Indian makes their own performance slip on but I have Vance and Hines (you can’t tell them apart looking through them as they use the same design). So open air cleaner, open exhaust, performance cams, and a computer tune to match. Runs amazing!

Very nice bike. I really like the new Springfield and for me that would be the next one I buy. I hate the thought of not having my RS as it's the first brand new bike I bought.

I really thought about keeping the Star, but with two bikes in the garage, I would always ride the one I liked better and the Star would sit a lot. I’d rather see it get used.

      Congrats on the new ride.

Nice bike! Those lowers are new to me on the new Indians. Have they always been available?

Thanks. Far as I know, they are standard on the Roadmaster from ‘15-current.

Another ship-jumper. I think Indian has taken more of our members than any other brand. Not saying I wouldn't do the same thing, but I'm one of those (financially challenged) guys who has to ride a Roadstar. Of course you can hang around, but you won't. You say that now, but you'll find some Indian website and they will get most of your attention. Just the way it is.

I test rode one. Fly by wire felt disconnected. No soul!

She's a beauty! Looks like a scooter on steroids. An easy choice as a 'jump ship' bike. Making me re-think my values here...

I'll send you my address just so you know where it's supposed to be parked. No fee for babysitting the bike for those times you're 'away'.

Sweet Ride……I’ve been looking at those a lot…..however I think my heart has already decided….I for one won’t get rid of my RS ever…..but if I was to go to another bike it would be the Indian Challenger followed by the Roadmaster. I am really digging that new Challenger, which is funny cause I really don’t care for the HD Road Glide it’s main counterpart…..but until they come down on price or I win the lottery I won’t be getting one any time soon…..

Nice ride and combo color. I got a 2016 Roadmaster the last week of last October. Only got to ride it a few days before putting her to bed for the winter.

Not to depress you, but since I have had a chance to put some miles on her, I discovered a serious problem with these bikes. You can't stop riding them. It's all you want to do. I friggin' love mine. Currently put just under 10K miles on her since mid April and that's with a shit ton of rainy days here in New England.

Your gonna be one happy guy.

This is why I didn’t keep the Roadstar. I just knew I wouldn’t be able to stay off this to take the Star. I went through a floor in a house fire about 12 years ago and messed myself up decent enough. I had done everything I could think of the Roadstar to make it comfortable for longer distances, Ed seat, roadwing rear shock, Racetech front springs and heavier oil, different bars and risers, and just couldn’t do more than about 4 hours without paying for it the next few days. While this bike, even with stock seat and suspension, I’ve already surpassed my Roadstar in comfort. It just made all the difference for me. I’ve put 600 miles on it since last Tuesday and am loving it.

FDRUCaptain , you hang out here as long as you like. Anyone who goes through a floor fighting a house fire has a lifetime exemption from anything. Thank you for your service.

Ditto. As a former firefighter myself, that's a tough one. No house is worth that type of injury, other than to rescue victims from the burning structure.

I get it midnight. I was only 5 years into being a volunteer. There’s not a day goes by I don’t regret my decision that day. I don’t ask for sympathy at all, and I 100% accept that it was my bad decision and my fault. Thank you for your service and time put in.

Thanks for your service. I appreciate you. As far as $$, I’ve been blessed with my job to be a decent one. It allowed me to let my wife stay home and raise our two kids to school age and then has allowed me this, but I have saved money for 4 years for this point.

Thank you for your service. Working alongside firefighters I couldn't see tackling a blazing building but had no problems tackling calls for service regardless of the nature, go figure.

Most of the time, the guys won’t tell you how many times you get back in the truck and your knees go to jelly or back at the station when cleaning your gear and finding burnt or melted parts. That’s when it hits you. It’s an adrenaline job, if they told us at 5pm we’d be running into a burning building, a lot less of us would go. Lol.
